  1. When he was in daytona i heard reports of 91-95 Fastball and 80-85 breaking ball. Maybe the increased walk ratio comes with increased velocity that he lost in 2010? or possibly smaller zones in AA? One thing that im really happy to see is, the increase in the K rate. almost 9/9 and still 2 groundball/flyball. The groundball ratio is slightly down from 2009 but the K ratio is up alot, from 116 inn/68 k. Just found this earlier tonight http://web.theabl.com.au/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110725&content_id=22268062&vkey=news_t4065&fext=.jsp&sid=t4065 He brought up some interesting points about pitching, cant help but think maturity is key here
  2. Strong outings today from a few levels, Searle 7.1 1 ER 7 K, Harman 7 0 runs 4ks and of course kirk
  3. Tennessee game is a curious one today... Ryan Searle 8k's 1 hit and no runs... But also 5 BB... Rhoderick not his usual self, and Beleiveua gave up 3 HR... And there offence really isnt producing much of late
  4. According to the Smokies website, Ryan Searle is starting today, looking over his last few games, many of them have been mulitple inning stints.. Also, i heard that Chris Rusin was being sent to AAA... Im surprised to hear that Loosen is going to go to AA i thought that Kirk might have had a shot to be promoted.. Maybe follow in Dallas Beelers footsteps a little especially after the game he had last night
  5. Interesting fact about the AA game, Every pitcher for both teams gave up atleast 1 HR!
  6. Lovely. He was hit in the head. http://media.al.com/birmingham-news/photo/9736789-standard.jpg He needs a haircut
  7. http://www.wbir.com/news/article/173327/2/Smokies-pitcher-was-victim-of-hit-and-run-on-the-Strip Just found this on the internet
  8. A few more possiblities Rebel Ridling Ryan Searle Chris Carpenter Rafael Dolis Matt Cerda Marwin Gonzalez
  9. Probably 10/16 strikes, I think MIlb is messed up cause im sure i remember atleast one 3-2 count.. Beliveau last 10 games 0.00 ERA. 12.1 innings. 4 hits. 1 BB 15 K..
  10. Saw tennessee play in carolina today, willing to answer questions on some guys, but i will quickly summarize. Beeler - Good stuff, real good. Alot of movement, and was 90-93 was not hit hard. Secondary stuff needs work, but not bad. Threw alot of strikes. Base hits were grounders etc. Although he did give up a solo shot. Lead off walk of the opposing pitcher on 4 straight pitches hurt him, although it looked as though he was tired, as he was on base the hole previous inning. Has a very very strong resemblance to Roy Halladay. Belivaue? - Not much to say here. he should be able to help the big league club soon. numbers speak for themselves. 2 innings 5k's -90-93 Smit - A few unlucky base hits, and then a double off the wall.. Has good stuff, was Mid-90's I am intrigued with Nelson Perez, showed good patience and pop off the bat. Not bad pitch recognition. Same with flores, waited for his pitch, did not look overmatched. Marwin Gonzalez, will play in the big leagues, whether its for us, or someone else.. the guy is smooth.. Happy with what i saw from jackson. Not a bad day, it was about 100 degrees though! Oh, and i forgot.. Chapman was average. Bad mound demeanour. caught the ball barehanded when unhappy with the call. hit 100 on a couple of pitches, but overall not overly impressed with how he threw or acted Will be at the game tomorow night, hopefully see the smokies win!
  11. Wasnt the collision in his last start?
  12. This disapoints me to no end, and i hate to be the bearer of bad news. But talking to one of the guys i know today, i heard that on his facebook page, he posted that he was getting Tommy John surgery... Will there be an end to the cubs injury woes this year? Hopefully its wrong info, BUT reliablity of the source is 99%
  13. My guess is that Carillo will move up from Tennessee.. As for Iowa. I really have no clue.. So many players up there with terrible numbers.. And with Cashner, Wells, and Garza All Coming back soon (fingers crossed) who knows what is going to happen, im sure there are a few worried AAAAers right now Buchter was overmatching the guys in High A, i dont know if he was the first lefty i would have chosen to pass on, but in saying that, maybe the MLB vet will prove useful
  14. http://www.sacbee.com/2011/05/26/3657618/braves-trade-p-lopez-for-p-buchter.html Is this another attempt at a AAAA starter to boost our ailing AAA pitching rotation??
  15. Yup i heard we are getting Struck in daytona
  16. Daytona Nick Struck from peoria chiefs
  17. Yeah, I think so. Smith will likely be added to the 40-man this offseason. The problem is he really can't play anywhere besides 3B. I dont see how he can only play 3rd is a problem considering our current situation at the hot corner
  18. Yeah 3 innings 5 k's 0 runs
  19. any idea where they would be headed?
  20. Derrik Lee trade for 3 minor leaguers http://www.torontosun.com/sports/baseball/2010/08/18/15065781.html
  21. why hasnt guyer played in the last few days?
  22. WOW... Ive been following him for quite a while, he's been putting together quite a season!
