I remember in 97 when I was 12 years old, after the cubs started the season losing 14 straight, trying to figure out the pace they would have to play to win the division. I remember being a little kid having the stomach flu barfing my guts out and listening to the Cubs game and Sandberg hitting 2 home runs. I remember growing up going to Cincinnati to watch Cubs games and seeing them get their asses kicked every time I went, but always begging my dad to stay for the whole game. I remember finally getting to see a game at Wrigley field, not believing that I was actually watching Sammy Sosa in person. I remember being so bummed that I never got to go to a game before Sandberg retired, and then being blown away that he just happened to be singing the 7th inning stretch my first game at wrigley. This is so awesome.
