  1. A friend of mine works in the front office of an mlb team (cant say which team,as he asked me not to) and he's got info on basically every player in the country. He said he would text me after our picks (probably not during the draft though) and give me a short rundown. I think I'll post what he has to say in the draft thread.
  2. It seems to me that he hasn't been the same consistent guy since Jaramillo left.

  8. Yeah heard topped out at 96 on stadium gun.
  9. Soler's raw power is tremendous. I saw Soler a couple of times in person and he has easy bat speed and has a solid approach at the plate and works counts. Soler shows a plus arm and runs ok for a right fielder. He has a few mechanical hitches that could limit his ability to stay inside quality stuff but overall he has too much upside to overlook.
  10. It was a fairly small sample size, but Clevenger was abysmal last year, he started off hot but it was a precipitous downhill ride after that. I'm not thrilled with the money (though it's a trivial amount), but I don't think Clevenger could have been counted on to provide anything, let alone motivation for Castillo to protect his job. I was pleasantly surprised by Clevenger's start last year, but by the end he looked about as bad as one could possibly look. I have to admit I watched probably 10 games after August 1st and didnt look at the final stats until now. I didnt realize that Clevenger dropped off that bad. Still I don't really see why we needed Dioner Navarro
  11. Do NOT like this at all. How much better can he be then Clevenger?
  12. Sitting here with my brother now. He said the scout compared Almora's bat skills and approach to Braun. Numbers more similar to McCutchen.
  13. Hey Guys-- My brother lives down in Arizona and he went to a couple AZL Cubs games in late july. He sent me an email awhile back but I have been on a buisness trip for almost a month and it completely slipped my mind until I saw him today. Anyways, I thought Id share:
  14. I might be wrong as my memory has failed me many times, but I seem to recall Hendry going on the radio to answer questions.
  15. This is a good move. You have to think that this was a year to evaluate not only the players but the front office/scouting department. They're going to keep the guys that they like (Wilken, etc) and get rid of the guys that don't fit.
