  1. Terrible decision by Nate to try and score on Bosh there leads to any easy basket by Wade as the defense was scrambling. It's hard to see the Bulls being able to get more than a 3-6 point lead the rest of the game.
  2. The Birdman takes flight over legal hurdles he's also gotta have some kind of mental illness What possibly makes you think that?
  3. I agree on both parts. If Appel goes #1 I am leaning towards Bryant over Gray at #2 for us.
  4. Could just be bluffing, but I'd assume this means Bryant.
  5. I just pulled up the Indians box score tonight and saw Carlos Santana is batting 6th (thought that was weird since his slash line is .379/.471/.690) so I went to BBR to see where he's been hitting in the order this year. He has 64 PA in the 6th spot and only a handful of ab's in the 3-4-5 (under 20 PA in every spot). While they have Kipnis (.698 OPS) and Cabrera (.710 OPS) hitting 2/3
  6. Halladay to have shoulder examined. Last two starts combined: 6IP 17ER 7K 13H 4HR
  7. Law regarding Appel's start Friday, fwiw
  8. He has to be the worst catcher in the league at receiving/framing pitches His defense has been so disappointing. He looks much more like a backup than a starter. His defense would be acceptable if his bat were well above-average, and his bat would be acceptable if his defense were above-average, but neither is the case. Agreed. If he could be Soto on defense he could get away with being a starter. But with mounting evidence that he's an awful defender and Dale's comments recently about needing to be better at defense, etc. you have to wonder if he's gonna start losing playing time. Thing is, though, we literally have zero other options at catcher.
  9. ETA: He just added that if he's medically cleared he will get to Brooklyn and try to win Game 7. I'm sure a guy with a mindset like this really thinks highly of Rose....
  10. But, but nobody cheated until the 90's in baseball! Those guys in the hall are gods amongst the mere mortals now days that have to cheat to get by and are half the man players were 25+ years ago.
  11. He has to be the worst catcher in the league at receiving/framing pitches
  12. Who do you bump to make room for Garza when he's ready? It's a toss up between Feldman and Villanueva for me, they both have relief experience both are out performing their numbers right now, neither have been starters for a full season (so it might be more likely both have a hard time reaching 30+ starts), I'm slightly leaning towards Feldman and put him in the pen. Feldman: 3.34 ERA, 5.11 FIP, 4.31xFIP 66.7 LOB%, 3.94 BB/9, .230 BABIP Villanueva: 2.29 ERA, 4.06 FIP, 3.23xFIP, 91.3 LOB% ( ), .176 BABIP.
  13. Is Shoulders to Daytona possible within the next 30-45 days? That would put him at a little more than 200 ab's at A ball.
  14. Our idiot media slayed Mark Prior and Kerry Wood for years. Oh yeah, another great example. I just used Garza because he's more relative, currently is injured
  15. I like to imagine Broussard pronounces Gay like he does Dwight, "GUUHAY."
  16. I think if Garza was medically cleared 2 months ago to pitch and was down in EXST throwing his fastball in the low-mid 90's and looking good but he didn't want to come up and pitch in the majors yet because he wasn't mentally prepared to throw his slider or something he'd be catching more hell from the Chicago media than Rose is/has.
  17. 1. No 2. I don't care, just get something done and pick the route that maximizes future revenue
  18. I'm amazed by the fact that at least not one journalist/media person hasn't been crucifying him, he seemingly is getting a pass by everyone. [expletive], Dwight took more heat this year for trying to play while he was still injured and work his way through it.
  19. Playing a lot of 1 on 1 games against Reggie over the summer
  20. Sean Nolin seems intriguing from the Blue Jays and #34 isn't ideal, but not bad either for Dejesus. I'd like to think we could get a top 12-15 prospect for him along with a pick.
  21. I think it's fair to give Soler another week to get back into a grove after what he's gone through the last 3ish weeks (even though most of it has been brought on by himself) before we really start worrying about/questioning him.
  22. Castillo has to be one of the worst, if not the worst, defensive catchers in baseball. He doesn't do anything well or even average. He's even terrible at receiving/framing pitches.
  23. If someone has looked deeper into Wood's numbers so far, are the results remotely sustainable? Is there is a drastic change in what pitches he's throwing (higher or lower percent of ones), is his velo up, etc? Or is this just a case of small sample size and he has some crazy low babip, or something that regression is coming? Obviously he isn't a sub 2 era pitcher. Just wondering if he has changed something that he might be better than the 4 era pitcher he has been.
  24. I want Appel. If the Astros take Appel I kind of want Bryant over Gray, if our scouts are near certain he can stick at 3B. That being said I wouldn't mind Gray at all if Appel goes #1.
