  1. Looking forward to what we do in UDFA. Since we’re one of only like 3 teams paying minor leaguers more I’d assume we are at an advantage to get guys. Also, since we’re paying horsefeathering Almora like $1.7 mil this year, they should be willing to sign a bunch of dudes who only cost 20K.
  2. Wouldn’t no stride theoretically help with pitch recognition since your eye level is less likely to be changing? Not sure I understand that part. Glad I wasn’t the only one who was confused by Law’s comment. Complete guess. But I’d assume with a wide stance you have to commit earlier to a pitch since your weight is spread out more and can’t adjust as much, where as when you have a narrower stance/leg kick you can adjust the weight a little better to the pitch type if you’re fooled or something. So maybe it isn’t so much pure recognition but more pitch adaptability?
  3. Yeah I’m surprised most teams aren’t more clustered between like +800 to +2000 or so. At the same time with a shortened season, larger playoff and more variance idk how you bet the Dodgers and Yankees at those numbers.
  4. In a shortened season I like the value in the Rays, Nats, Cubs, Phillies, Padres, Rockies and Jays to varying degrees.
  5. This guy is a complete horsefeathering loser but somehow has almost 15,000 followers. Glad we ruined his and his followers night. https://twitter.com/ChiSoxFanMike/status/1270523151332540418?s=20
  6. Hopefully Daniel Cabrera lasts to us in RD 2 tomorrow, then go nuts on pitching
  7. I’m happy with it. He’ll stick at short, good floor for a prep kid. There's Face of the Franchise potential here...Great intangibles and org fit, obviously has the tools to be a first division starting SS...There's some threat to Almora but nah, Howard has been a top player for his age for a long time Yeah, was gonna say. Reading that BA blurb I got some Almora vibes
  8. Don’t love it, hopefully he can come in under slot a bit. Would’ve preferred Soderstrom, Mitchell or a pitcher.
  9. What does that mean? Taking a guy who takes more than the slot amount to sign
  10. Soderstrom or Mitchell at 16 hopefully Yeah, we'll see. I'm much higher on Soderstrom than Mitchell. I don't like that demographic (HS catchers), but his bat is really special. I've been on him since last year... I like him a lot more if they think 3B/COF is where he’s headed because I really like the bat too.
  11. If Veen gets to 12 or so I’m gonna start getting excited
  12. It's a devastating group, if they all develop. I wonder what the plan with Martin is ... I'm thinking long range 3rd. That said, they probably didn't expect him there. Yeah, I’d assume they’d try SS/CF because of positional value. But maybe they just Zobrist him from the start.
  13. The Jays have 2014/15 Cubs like position player potential
  14. It’s back starting tomorrow, with a really solid field.
  15. Mitchell, Workman or Cabrera and 3 pitchers (don’t care to look in to them because horsefeathers pitchers, they’ll all break anyways, I’ll learn and get excited about the guys we take after the fact) is probably my ideal draft.
  16. Reminder that ESPN is showing the draft (Kiley will be on) so watch that over the buffoons at MLBN. 6PM CT.
  17. At least they’re moving closer on amount of games played. 65-70 games with expanded playoffs and it fully pro-rated but with 10-20% of the pro-rated amount escrowed and/or paid back over a 2-3 year period will be my guess on where they end up. Also, apparently, the networks want the regular season done by September 27th. The 89 games and original 114 proposal by the players was never realistic if that’s a firm date. There’s 85 days between July 4 (which they may have fucked up hitting as a start date at this point) and September 27.
  18. They don’t seem that far apart, looking at it from this perspective. Make it ~70 games off of this and let’s go.
  19. Bang up job, horsefeathering morons. Gonna miss out on an opportunity to potentially grow the game and building long term equity (what most owners should care about more) over not losing cash this year. Missing a year this year and whatever happens in 2 years is going to kill any sort of growth they could’ve picked up on by being the first sport back. Now even if they come back they’ll be going up against the NBA and be NFL/CFF starting. horsefeathering Manfred.
  20. Posting for the video. Can definitely see the Machado comp, body wise for him.
  21. ~75 game season with prorating and maybe a larger playoff would seem like the logical landing spot here. 110+some sort of playoff seemed a bit aggressive anyways. Unless they were willing to screw around with starting next season.
