  1. At the very least give Castro the day off Friday, the very least
  2. I mean he required an additional year and $55 mil more than Lester. The nature of the contract made the numbers look bigger than reality. Once you factor in the huge amount of deferred payments, I think FanGraphs had it as only $10 million or so more than Lester. I forgot he got deferred money, but also a draft pick
  3. I mean he required an additional year and $55 mil more than Lester.
  4. I know Scherzer is pitching really well but my goodness Baxter has to go
  5. Lester and Scherzer getting a little extra on the outside corner tonight
  6. What's the record for most combined K's in a game?
  7. The game is on MLB Network as well it appears, at least in some markets
  8. If Lester gets that strike call all night we are in good shape
  9. He would've just cost us Kris Bryant While Kris Bryant no doubt eases the Donaldson pain, damned if I don't wish we had Chris Archer. Today's line: 8IP 2H 0R 0/12 BB/K Season; 68IP 2.12, ERA 20/82 BB/K If only they'd chosen McNutt (if it was true those were their 2 options, and if I'm not mistaken they were similarly rated at the time)
  10. He did have some sort of thumb/ligament surgery in the offseason and dealt with the injury all last year (a theory why he was so bad last year, he couldn't pull the ball because of it), so maybe he's just getting back to feeling normal.
  11. We need to band together to get A-Rod more votes on the AL side
  12. Scherzer should have no problem getting into the teens for Ks tonight.
  13. the emotional meatball side of me agrees Wouldn't the more logical thing to do be have Baez take Coghlan's spot and put either Bryant or Baez in LF?
  14. You laugh, but it's likely someone gets desperate for starting pitching at the deadline. Remember how little we gave up to get Strop and Arrietta. I think the best they could do is get a Zach Lee type prospect for either of them from the Dodgers, for example. And I know there's a whole body of work to look at, but Feldman that year was pitching much better than either of Lohse or Garza right now and Garza still has $25 million left on his contract after the year.
  15. I wonder if he could handle CF
  16. I think this is what they always do until games are over, for the most part. Just Harold and other idiots blabbering over in game look ins.
  17. Will he cost more or less than a Ryan Sweeney?

  19. Yeah, I guess Callaspo is younger (still 32) and maybe they feel Uribe is just done at 36-37 and Callaspo provides a little more defensive flexibility. That's all I got.
  20. He did but they apparently kept talking and now he's cool with the trade or something [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. Alberto Callaspo to the Dodgers for Uribe, 6 player trade in total according to Rosenthal. Callaspo was pulled from the lineup before the game.
  22. Defense, Pitching and some timely hitting. Great win
  23. Whut. On a lot of days the ball Fowler hit is a routine fly out Didn't seem like he hit all that high for it be carried out like Harper's was. Looked more like he just drove it into the stands. To me it seemed like Fowler just got it up high enough to carry and didn't hit it all that hard. But maybe I judged it poorly
