That’s some awesome base running by Willy. Also good to see Russell get his hard hit out quota out of the way early today. Seems like he’s lining out or hitting a rocket one hopper out once a game for 2 weeks now. -

Most Chatwood strikeout ever. Goes from 1-2 to pretty much hitting a guy but it hits the knob of the bat instead and Willy catches it.

Trade for Scherzer I’d take the dive and jump in on him. He’s signed for 3 years after this and he has deferrals so idk exactly how much he’s owed but I think it’s in the $120 million range

Nah, there’s still like 15 relief pitchers out there and plenty of SP of Happish value. Brandon horsefeathering Drury is the main piece going for Happ. I think we’re just letting things play out since there’s not a huge gap between a lot of these guys value wise and/or Theo’s cooking up something big. The KB injury could have us re-evaluating things as well in terms of targets.

He’s fucked, Crull also added he’s been tinkering with his swing lately to try and alleviate pain. -
That could actually be a sneaky awesome way of upgrading the rotation this year. An impact guy like Stroman probably costs someone off the ML roster, let's just say Happ or Almora. Our FO is reticent to do that during the year, but if you expand the deal to Donaldson and Stroman. pushing KB to the OF if/when both are healthy, you can trade one of those guys without hurting our position player depth. I'm not sure the BJs would want to package Donaldson and Stroman when there's a market for them seperately. Idk if there’s all the great of a market for an injured Donaldson right now. Especially when there’s Beltrr, Moustakas, Frazier, Dozier, Cabrera and others out there. I like gambling Donaldson regains form but he’s been hurt/bad all year, he shouldn’t cost much.

He’s coming back from injury soon and if KBs injury is not going to get better this year I’d be interested in Donaldson.

Not a whole lot of options right now with Javy in DL limbo, I think the only way you sit him today is Heyward in Center and Zobrist in Right, or LaStella in the infield and Happ in Center. But I imagine the plan is to get Zobrist as many off days as possible to keep him fresh, and it's not like Tommy is lighting up the ball right now. Literally everyone in the lineup but Chatwood is a better option to hit 2nd over Almora vs RHP. Zobrist out vs RHP is dumb too. He should be in RF and Heyward in CF today. Zobrist has been a lot better vs righties vs lefties this year and putting the guy with the worst walk rate on the team not only in the lineup over him but also hitting him second against a guy with a Chatwood like BB/9 is just dumb. We’ve treated this series very nonchalantly and haven’t optimized much of anything.
