Yeah, sure, agreed. But why the horsefeathers would they win tomorrow? Because they’re better and they typically wash these garbage games out of the system fast. Even if they lose they’re still in decent shape, it just makes it likely the season lasts longer and they can’t get more rest. -

Every player in the lineup has a wRC+ over 100 this year vs LHP. Murphy is fine vs lefties, like Rizzo, he was probably going to get at least one day off before the next off day. This is a fine one to pick especially as I mentioned above with a GB pitcher like Monty starting.

Monty is a pretty extreme GB pitcher, so I don’t mind maximizing the infield defense and with a lefty it makes a little sense to let today be the day Murphy gets a break since we have like 9 more games in a row before an off day. Almora batting leadoff is dumb but the players picked to play make sense.

Cardinal (because horsefeathers them) Dodgers (because horsefeathers them as well and don’t want them in the playoffs) and Braves (because home field advantage) all lost so not all that terrible of a day

Yeah he was dead there but there’s no way that’s his instinct to think about 2B there. He’d have to be lucky to catch how far away Cain was out of the corner of his eye. Once he committed to the play he did (likely wrong) he only had 1B on his mind.

I’m confident their pitching won’t hold up and Counsell will mismanage away a bunch of games. Having Granderson bunt was laughable. Yeah, these humps aren't catching up to horsefeathers; this is just annoying because this was a super easily winnable game, and the Cubs just botched it away multiple times over. Yeah. The thing I’m most pissed about the loss outside of the mental errors and Joe being a dunce is it knocks off a few extra horsefeathers around games for us to get guys more rest and let some of the bullpen guys like smyly, Webster, etc get a few more innings to see if they can be playoff options.
