  1. This might be dumber than the Ryan Sweeney extension post/thread
  2. Albies agent shouldn’t be allowed to ever negotiate a MLB deal again, that’s horsefeathering negligence to his/her client. I don’t even think Albies is all that good but this deal is garbage. Of course teams are gonna play along and take these deals from idiot agents because it’s “good business” but they’re being snakes here too with idiot agents.
  3. This is how you know fWAR isn't to be trusted Looking at it, it’s only 1 of 2 years he ranked positive defensively and had his solid offensive year (his offensive numbers that year weren’t much different than any other solid year he had). The other year he ranked positive defensively was with us in 2017 but he missed 30 games. If he plays his typical amount of games that year that would’ve been his best year ever.
  4. We could have had Adam Jones for nothing. He might suck and can't even be a CF anymore for all I know, though. He sucks, but he’s probably an upgrade. So is Happ internally, Pollock, Cameron Maybin, Austin Jackson, Curtis Granderson, Carlos Gomez as FA or some OF that could’ve been traded for. It’s not a high bar to exceed to find value over Almora. He has a 31 wRC+ this year, 46 going back to last July, 69 back to last June and 81 going back to last May (when he was supposedly good). He horsefeathering sucks, there’s nothing in the batted ball data to show he’s been unlucky or anything (the numbers are mostly deserved) he has no history of hitting for a high BA, power or walking, he’s a shitty baserunner (outside of Game 7) and he’s not even that great on defense as he’s a few steps slow on everything so he makes diving and running catches. Yet the FO and manager treat him like he’s team controlled, under 30, 2016 Dexter when he should be treated like Szczur was (a mostly useless and expendable player).
  5. Slappy McContact needs to go. He horsefeathering sucks
  6. Probably shouldn’t have let Schwarber face this particular lefty
  7. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to *checks notes* Jordan Lyles.
  8. Darvish didn’t pitch nearly as bad as his line indicated, imo. That 6th inning was a garbage BABIP fest and some horsefeathers trying to hold his runners who shouldn’t have been in.
  9. I was listening to MLB radio the other day and the guy talking mentioned they weren’t using the Carolina mud or whatever the hell they had been using forever this year and they’re using something else like it was a well known thing. I don’t recall seeing that anywhere either going in to the season but it was said matter of factly.
  10. Upgrading to Bryan Smith (Cubs Prospects on Twitter) over that Luke Blaze idiot they use to have is incalculable.
  11. Wasn’t it cold when he shoved us in the 2017 NLCS?
  12. That’s more than a viable sample for Jesse’s dumb ass brain and narratives he likes to push. He was bemoaning our strike out problem last year after 2-3 games that included a horsefeathering 18 inning game or whatever because the surface number was big but the rate stat was fine.
  13. Tommy hit his 2nd HR of the night
  14. Dick shot Freddy gives up 6 in the first, including a 3-run Dong to Seal Boy
  15. I don’t know they didn’t move this game to today, they allegedly were thinking about it. It’s going to be a lightly attended game anyways tomorrow with this weather. I don't get why people are surprised that didn't happen. That's one of the most logistically difficult things to pull off in events. TV, fans, workers and just general team concerns have to be addressed. Tomorrow is going to be colder with passing showers, but the forecast is hardly "obvious rainout" territory. And both teams have pitcher issues right now. Fair enough and I get that, but this early on I think there should be more flexibility
  16. Or, you know, use it to maximize the good weather days during the series with moving games around.
  17. I don’t know they didn’t move this game to today, they allegedly were thinking about it. It’s going to be a lightly attended game anyways tomorrow with this weather.
  18. Seal Boy just hit a 2 run Dong vs the Brewers
  19. Doesn’t seem like Letser’s injury is that bad. We are off tomorrow or Wednesday (sounds like they might move the game to tomorrow for weather), then off again next Thursday and 2 and 3 Monday’s from now. So with all those off days we can just 4 man it/push Lester back a bit since it doesn’t seem like more than a 1-2 start missed injury.
