lol come on. He sucks but we can give him credit for that one His lack of speed made it become a harder catch than it needed to be, yes. Excellent catch by him given the circumstances.
It’s April, cold and windy, and he’s been 91-92 t95 on the SNY broadcast Got it, wasn’t watching. Just saw a tweet he was sitting there. Twitter was wrong, shocking.
The defense hasn’t done Yu any favors tonight outside of Almora’s catch (which he may have Edmonds’d a bit/was so slow it wasn’t as hard as it appeared ).
I don’t think it came out until after the season but basically he was dealing with a back injury for a good amount of time and playing through it, iirc, sometime in the second half. Edit: looks like he did have disc issue in his back sometime in August and it caused him to miss a lot of September and October games and he was playing through it for a while.
I don’t remember so that’s why I’m asking and not trying to make any sort of point but his back injury kicked in around July/August last year didn’t it?
I would love to see an angle that shows where Javy was while it was happening. I'm sure I'd have also been pissed had he been thrown out, but wondering how good of a chance it was. Yeah, I am assuming he just was almost tagging? Because that’s a play I just assume he sees happening and is like 2/3 of the way to 3B and scores easily when it’s dropped.
Javy not scoring from 2B on that dropped ball and Willy having a miserable AB are both worse than that call on the strike out or not not on Schwarbs there.
God damn it Joe. He clearly didn’t have it, bullpen is rested after deep starts the last two days and tomorrow is probably 50/50 of being played. Ridiculous to give Brach or any reliever a leash today.
