  1. Idk if I want that pressure on him, I’d go Zobrist, Vic, or Willy (depending who’s playing). Just don’t have it be Almora or Heyward and I’m cool with whoever it is.
  2. I know there’s been lots of arguing here about this but every single Brewers game the rest of the season is against one of the 5 worst teams in the NL. So what I’m saying is, it’s going to be hilarious when the Cardinals miss the playoffs There also is going to be a lot of hat tipping to the horsefeathering Brewers in a couple weeks. No, there isn’t
  3. So knowing that, best case is mild sprain and day to day, worst case maybe being a bad high ankle sprain and possibly out a month Yeah, but sprains can be tricky and take longer than breaks. Hopefully there’s no ligament damage.
  4. Hell of a response by the offense after Rizzo and the lead went down.
  5. He is what he is, 2-3 win pitcher who will give us ~15 good starts, 6-8 blow ups and the rest being average and good enough but nothing special.
  6. If anything the injuries will make Theo want to run it back and just change out Joe and do margin moves. Joe and injuries will be the big blame.
  7. Was a single ball hit hard that inning?
  8. Every other horsefeathers team in this division has had multiple guys go on multi week heaters and win like 10 straight and 13 of 17. Might as well do that now.
  9. Both his Dongs so far are Dongs in Wrigley unless there’s extreme wind conditions coming in and Dongs in pretty much every park in MLB. Statcast had one HR at 96MPH and one at 100+, 388 (left field well) and 411 feet (LCF). He definitely seems to have 20HR+ potential, since they tweaked his swing and he’s over the wrist/hand injury especially in the juiced ball environment.
  10. I suppose, optimistically, he could be back next weekend.
  11. I assure you I will not. I still think we have a realistic shot at the division and the main thing I wanted this weekend for for neither team to sweep that series. Tomorrow, I care more about the Cubs winning than the result of the other game. And the bottom line is I want the Cards to miss the playoffs and the more they lose, the more likely that is. I feel like if your main goal is to have the Cardinals not make the playoffs -- other then the Cubs making it - then I don't think anyone can tell you you will regret it cheering against them. However, I don't think St. Louis is sweeping the Nats, but I do see the Brewers sweeping the Padres in all four games, and I see a very good scenario where the Brewers glide by us while we are tying to pass the Cardinals. I think it was better to knock the Brewers back from us by three games.* Any way, I know what I'm trying to say, but I'm not really sure I'm making any sense. And I don't drink so I can't blame it on being drunk. I still say screw the Cubs for not taking care of business last weekend and not even making this as much of a convo. * To be fair, I clearly loathe the Brewers so of course I think it would be better. The Padres and Brewers are pretty even teams, I think the Padres get at least one and probably split. Anyways I agree with the sentiment that I didn’t want a sweep in the STL-MIL series either so that’s accomplished. Ideally we win 3 of our next 4, Cardinals beat Brewers tomorrow and get swept or lose 2 of 3 to the Nats this week and then we don’t need to care as much about the Brewers if they lose tomorrow and Padres get 1 or 2.
  12. The Reds series is the one I’m worried about just because we get Gray and Castillo. Cards get the Nats big 3 though which is good. Win tomorrow, get 2 of 3 vs the Reds and I feel pretty confident we’ll be within 2 games of the Cards going in to the series next week with them.
  13. I think he optimistically projected as a 15-20 HR guy (maybe more in juiced ball environment), there was power to tap in to there, Cubs even said it on draft day. Some reasons for such low power numbers for him in the minors is that they did have to do a swing rework for him to add launch, the lower minors don’t have the juiced ball and have some horsefeathers hitters parks (he never reached AAA) and he also had a wrist/arm injury for a good chunk of the year that likely kept power down.
  14. I picked Patriots just because the pool I’m in never goes more than like 9 weeks so just want to survive and advance the first few weeks. But I’d go Baltimore or Houston as the smarter, more long term plays.
  15. Yup and Mahle in the other one.
  16. Cardinals have Scherzer/Corbin/Strasburg in the next series coming up so if we can man up for once and sweep this weekend I think we want the VBs to take 1 if not 2 of the next games. But that assumes we are good and can win.
  17. http://memecrunch.com/meme/154ZY/emperor-good/image.png Sure the Royals would love him back, bring us Lovelady I say A team like them or the Orioles or Tigers should absolutely go after him, see if there’s more than a backend/swingman type in there. Hopefully we at least get some IFA money or like another Wick lotto ticket RP with control for him.
