    Probably, I guess Sean has more value out of the pen since he is lefthanded. Marshall's value is definitely higher out of the pen, I would say best case scenario out of either guy is league average #3 type starter and worst case for Wells is #5 type innings eater and Marshall's is probably LOOGY/long relief.

    I like that you type this after today, and have previously said nothing like this. ok? i've hardly paid attention to the cubs the past month. i shouldn't say he will suck... i guess he might be your typical #5 but i don't think he will be better than that. although i did just arrive at this after watching him pitch four innings poorly, so what do i know. Wells is neither the pitcher he was for the majority of the summer, nor is he the pitcher of the last two starts. He is likely going to fall somewhere in between and probably end up similar to a Marquis type pitcher So worse than Marshall then? I would say close to the same level, probably a little better than Marshall. But I would say from next season going forward if both were given 25-30 starts their final numbers/results would probably be very similar.

    The only thing pre-season/early season rankings are good for are ways to hype games on TV and with betting.

    Maybe we should shut Wells down with Harden, he clearly has lost is or is fatigued. No use in piling up the innings on him/him losing confidence after such a good season.

    Same here, even if they aren't playing for something there's only 20 games left then winter is going to roll in and by mid Oct./early Nov. I am going to be missing this. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts, even though it wasn't the best of seasons. 3-0 Giants

    Like not drafting or trading for a QB the last 3 years when it was clear Delhomme was breaking down and they had nobody capable to take over. They could have drafted John Beck (Miami is/was pretty high on him), Drew Stanton, or Trent Edwards in 2007 and they probably could have traded up if they wanted to get Quinn. They could have drafted Flacco in 2008. Then you had guys traded this offseason in Cassel, Cutler and Sage Rosenfels that they could have got in on. Kitna, Leftwitch and Garcia were FA and Derrick Anderson probably could have been traded for.
