  1. that was an amusing sack
  2. Pennington looks like he throws changeups. How does that arm movement not result in more velocity?
  3. I didn't see him in the press conference. Was he in bad shape? From listening (I was in the car)I'd say he sounded like he was close to tears for the end of his interview. Not that I'd say you could make a comment like that until he fails to come back next season.
  4. if that had been blocked and the cowboys scored, that would have put this up there...
  5. not every day that your qb costs you a playoff game on a field goal attempt
  6. and alexander injures himself? weird, weird game
  7. what an ending
  8. I'd be pretty pissed about that spot... not the kind of thing that gets overturned though
  9. $.6, wouldn't have been a disaster ( I was worried about a 7 figure contract after nov/dec)
  10. I had to tivo and see what your were talking about. That was a N.D. cheerleader. If you are talking about the one with the long nose. My apologies to LSU.
  11. that's the world's ugliest cheerleader. grats, lsu
  12. MLB had rules against using illegal drugs. Guys had been suspended for using illegal drugs. That's what I was wondering. MLB had rules on it, and MLB took action on it. MLB, however, had no such policy on steroids prior to a few years ago. They didn't test for drugs, but, as much as they were illegal drugs, steroids fit into the category of drugs that could get you in trouble if you were caught with them by the law. Hopefully this will be the last time... Steroids were specifically banned in 1991.
  13. He's a 33 year old OF with 1 season where he had an ops over .696 (a pretty solid 2004). The last 2 years (while, mind you, playing OF) he was neifi-bad with the bat. They're ugly.
  14. I've heard that it causes the stitches to stand out more, so there's more spin. No idea if anyone has measured/tested it, though.
  15. I'm on vacation with 4 indifferents, 3 bears fans, and 14 packers fans. I'm still rooting vociferously for f-a-r-v-e to get squashed and want to retirement. now that I don't have to worry about barry running for 200 yards in the second half, f-a-r-v-e is the person I most want out of football
  16. Tucker was talking about Stewart's softball questions to Kerry as proof that he's a left-wing operative, but didn't give a control for his hypothesis. Stewart never really asks difficult questions of any of his guests, Republicans or Democrats. It's kind of sad how stewart rips on the right for 90% of his shows then, when he happens to have one to interview, goes easy on him. Not much more annoying than an outwardly partisian interviewer on a comedy show pretending to be fair for 5 minuites
  17. You're in trouble if you can't run it on the colts. 21 carries for 58 yards eliminating rudi's long.
  18. I think the rule is that if it is ruled a fumble, the Bengals would get the ball at the point of the fumble (therefore the same as a sack). Yep. the ball is dead when it hit the ground, but the difference is the line of scrimage/where it hit the ground
  19. testaverde was 8th in TD passes? really???
  20. He got the turnovers right, but got about 8 times too many yards and completions. Not that similar. 98 yards of offense to 396 is impressive.
  21. merriman was just tackled by his throat by his blocker. that's about as bad a hold as you'll see
  22. Pretty much. The Buccaneers did nothing in the first half and looked like they were dead, down 24-3 with 5:15 remaining in the 3rd Q; but Rattay engineered a nice drive after a nice return by Torrie Cox to make the score 24-10. Then Hester fumbled the ensuing kick-off and TB cashed in with another TD to make it 24-17. After the Bears put together a nice drive to seemingly put it in the bag (31-17), Rattay came back and torched the Bears on successive drives - in between a Bear 3 and out - with TD passes of 64 and 44 yards to tie it up. At least at that point, the Bear defense stepped it up and played well. Ricky manning got burned twice on those TDs. The worst part is not that he was burned, it's that he was unable to catch up. His top speed was not high enough.
  23. I was hoping for a tie, bet no one has ever clinched on a tie. After that, I was hoping for the bears to complete the implosion so lovie could say "the bucs were who we thought they were!" Oh well, I'll take the win
