  1. Ball 1 to fuk is a much better pitch than several of those earlier strikes to RHers
  2. Was Marshall trying there? I know he's slow, but that was pathetic
  3. What are you talking about? He stood there, then he decided to jog over. And was about 20 feet from the bag when he crossed.
  4. I don't think Wood could have made it anyway, but that was bad.
  5. Conventional thinking reigns supreme. Meanwhile, we're using wood and Marmol.
  6. Len is not taking any flies to Soriano as a given out anymore
  7. Yup, I'm shocked by how good Soto has been.
  8. They had 3 choices. 1. Leave Hansen in. 2. Bring in the lefty who is warmed up. 3. Bring in a righty who isn't warm. This is usually why teams have both righties and lefties warming up when in situations like that, unless it's a stud setup/closer. I don't think that was a stud.
  9. Wait, they just put in a LH to face Reed with the bases loaded?
  10. Is the pirates pen so bad that they have to use this guy with a 1 run lead in the 8th?
  11. I would like to hear a (good) curling joke.
  12. He was safe. The ball beat him to the bag, the glove was on the leg, ,the leg was not on the base.
  13. I'll care about the playoff clinch, I think the Cubs will care about the division
  14. A hundred cubic feet of concrete is hard to swallow. Also, congratulations to that Kenyan marathoner. That was the rare case of a celebration during play that didn't make me dislike the athlete. Also, mountain time sucks for watching the olympics.
  15. Marquis just turned 30?? I'm shocked. I had no idea he was that young. I've never had an age surprise with a Cub like that.
  16. Lee tried to steal second, Soriano broke for home, they threw home instead of tagging Lee out and ending the inning
  17. You could also point to the numerous other games the Cubs lost over the course of the season as being equally responsible, whether they were losses to the Brewers or to the Nationals. Of course, ut he said that this game does not matter, then goes on to call ME ignorant. I called the position an ignorant position to take. I never said YOU were ignorant. Positions cannot be ignorant. They can only reflect on the ignorance of those who hold them
  18. This gamethread could get itself locked before the game even ends
