  1. Good Lee+Good Ramirez together again makes me so happy
  2. Yeah, completely failing to bunt a fastball in the strike zone? That was a win if he could manage it
  3. Bradley has to be challenging a lowest slugging/most walks record
  4. that was the most perfectly, intentionally placed FB Marmol has thrown all year
  5. Are you assuming Marmol can throw balls intentionally?
  6. Lmfao I just saw it. I thought it was the replay at first. impressive. Most impressive.
  7. That last one looked like a strike to me, too. But Pudge really dropped low to take it. I've never understood how umpires are supposed to be able to judge breaking balls low in the zone. you just can't see it from that angle
  8. Hawkins ejected for no apparent reason, if you're not watching
  9. I'm surprised they don't show Buehrle's face after that catch in that commercial. The look before it was pretty good
  10. Do the fans boo his past performance or vigorously cheer his arrival on the mound? They boo because it seems to affect him
  11. You're supposed to take out Bucknor's knee so he can never ump again, not his throat and kill him
  12. I'm reminded of the time the Pirates manager brought in a righty to face Remlinger after Dusty had brought him in to face a lefty Quoting this again to point out how long it's been since the last time I've seen a pair of managerial decisions (one from each team at essentially the same time) that stupid
  13. I'm reminded of the time the Pirates manager brought in a righty to face Remlinger after Dusty had brought him in to face a lefty
  14. Z may not be a worse hitter than hill (may), but he's at about 100 pitches. You use a PH there, Lou
  15. When you hold the microphone as far away from yourself as your stubby arms can manage, you're not going to get picked up
  16. This was the most predictable 7th inning stretch disaster ever
  17. Combine sensationalism with innumeracy with a lack of knowledge of any field outside of English... modern journalism is screwed and screwed up edit: because we have so many journalism types here, I guess I should point out that not all of the class is innumerate or ignorant. This is not an article that Kylejrm would have written, and I'm sure there are several others here whose names escape me at the moment who could be included.
  18. In the two months I lived in Malaysia I learned the rules of cricket to a reasonable degree. Aside from the confusion of watching both 5 day and 20 over [edit: not sure about the number of overs anymore] matches (which is like watching baseball played with a limited number of innings vs a long game clock), it didn't seem that confusing But I don't see how it can appeal to Americans at this point, who either are baseball fans or won't care about a game like cricket
