Market Crash could help Cuban hurt Ricketts in Cubs sale... http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/ny-spken215851166sep21,0,1440665.column Certainly the Ricketts family, which seems to be the front-runner by a good margin at this point, their fortune is in private equity investments. One would think that they have been hit significantly by this, and that might influence their wherewithal. The sexier suitor - to the public, at least - has been Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, whose wealth doesn't revolve around such traditional industries. While one person with knowledge of Bud Selig's thinking said that the baseball commissioner wasn't opposed to bringing Cuban into the owners' club, Cuban does have an important adversary in White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf, who, as owner of the Chicago Bulls, already conducts business with Cuban. Hopefully Cuban gets this.. Any idea how Ricketts would be as an owner? I know alot of people said Canning wouldnt spend but I have no idea about Ricketts. Anybody have any info on this guy?
