  1. If Theriot ends up losing arb and then has a down season, what are the odds he doesn't blame management for ruining team chemistry? Try to get as much value out of him as soon as you can. Could we go with Darwin Barney until Castro is ready?
  2. Since we at least have to think about the possibility of MB coming back, what would theoretically need to be done for the situation to be resolved to the point of him returning without pure chaos breaking out? Or is this so beyond repairable that at all costs this can not be repaired? Is there ANY chance this can be fixed?
  3. With the Tigers need for MI help, I could see Theriot going over as the centerpiece of the deal. Throw in Marshall and a minor leaguer and I think you have groundwork for something the Tigers would be interested in. Gives them a few years under control for 2 guys who have proven their worth in the bigs as well as someone on the cusp, or a Fuld or Fox type to round it out.
  4. Kinda off topic, but does anyone know if Fukudome's family moved to the United States? Or if they are planning to?
  5. It just depends on when and where Marmol is used. If he's allowed to close, using 4-5 out saves regularly, then he's the best closer option. If they aren't comfortable using him in multiple out saves, but instead in long set up positions, then he will easily be the best set up man in baseball again. It's all up to Lou and his staff.
  6. Hill was our 2nd best starter in 2007, but since then has completely broke down. His star has fallen, if he ever even had one. The fact that Hendry can sell our once top prospects at all shows to me his ability to move on and not dwell on what once was. As much as I hate to see these guys crash and burn in our pinstripes, it happened. There's nothing more we can do. Our hand was forced in this situation and Hendry will now make the most of a bad situation. We can't focus on what he failed to make of Hill/Pie/Cedeno, because these things happen from time to time. Also, while I would have liked to see Hill try to fight for the 5th starter spot in ST, or even a relief spot, his track record over the past 9 months has been unbelievably awful (btw, is Cotts capable to be our lefty next year? I know we have good RH relievers to face lefties, but I still find this a glaring problem). If this is really it, I wish him the best. I'll never forget when I first got HDTV and saw Hill and Marquis sitting next to each other on the bench clearly hungover on their off days. Good times.
  7. not sure if i've ever posted on here, but i've had an account for some time. i'm speculating bradley signs for 3/33-34 at least, which i'd be fine with. i know the injury and mental history push some teams away, but to be honest, he is flat out scary when healthy. mlbtraderumors had him looking for at least 4/40, but with this market who knows what he'll wind up with.
