  1. Crawford is hurt, not sure if he's on the DL or not but he's hurt.
  2. This kid either A. Knows nothing of Cubs Nation or B. Seems to be confusing us with White Sox fans. Or their own fans... Amazes me.
  3. this is coming from a guy that likes soccer. You know the old saying about soccer and golf. We love to play it because it is so boring to watch. Not even close to the same thing. In golf they hit a shot, walk 200 yards, then stand over the ball for 30 second, then walk around it for few more, talk to the caddy and then hit the shot. Putts are even worse because they walk around the ball for a minute looking at every single angle and slope, then take some practice swings, look at the lie a little more, take a couple more practice swings and then finally shoot the ball. And in soccer, players kick the ball around the field, and the ball is never close to the goal for 95 percent of the match. It's without a doubt the most boring sport I've ever tried to watch. At least the players are doing something on the field (i.e. kicking the ball around) rather than walking for 200 yards in between shots. There's not a chance soccer is more boring than golf. Not even close. Televised Golfing events usually bounce between players so there's little time that nothing is happening. Usually the moments that take "forever" such as stepping up to the ball or reading a putt build the tension, at least for me anyway. Granted, it isn't everyones cup of tea and I understand that. But watching Golf on tv has never bored me. I'm hoping to go to the US Open next year seeing as it's about 30 minutes away
  4. Vance, I'm hoping you didn't mean Beltran for Pie even up. I'm sure they would want Pie plus a few more prospects. If they get more prospects I would want them to eat probably 4 million a year or so. You can't expect the Mets to trade an All Star CF for a prospect that has struggled in the majors. How many more prospects and the quality of the prospects might cause them to eat some salary. If the Mets are willing to trade Beltran for Pie (or Pie plus one prospect) then do it and don't worry about the contract. This is the team that traded Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. What did they get in return for Milledge? If you even want to make a move, strike now while Minaya is on the hot seat and pressure is on the organization to do something this year. If not Beltran then someone else, the Mets over everyone else are ripe to be ripped off. The question is, do they have any other realistic pieces that would fit with us that we could get them to move? Ryan Church is probably the Mets best player right now and Schneider I believe has been an upgrade to Do Luca. Beltran has been their most consistent player this season so I don't think it would be that easy to get him. Couple that with the fact the fans go crazy whenever he steps to the plate.. Everytime I listen to 660 here they're always talking about trading Reyes and there's alot of fans that wouldn't mind him gone, not sure why but be that as it may.
  5. This is very wrong, a Yankees fan can't go 2 minutes without saying COUNT THE RINGZ Whenever I go into that stadium, wearing a Cubs hat, I never hear the end of billy goats, 100 years, Bartman and 26 titles. Mets fans, while they do make jabs occasionaly, stop after an inning or 2.
  6. Wow. Was he moving? Did he give a thumbs up as he left?
  7. Purple hat would look better, in my opinion.
  8. We have to wait and see who is coming - if it's solely Mesa guys, there will be some intriguing prospects but no one who would be in the top 10 in the system. There could be some 2008 draftees, though. Ohhh, ok. I thought it was known who was being sent to the game.
  9. Is there going to be anyone really worth paying attention to and watch the game? I don't know too much about the guys in single-A.
  10. Today I'll agree. He shouldn't have been used in this game.
  11. Can't complain about Kerry warming up, he hasn't pitched in a few days and I'm sure he isn't pitching tomorrow.
  12. These threads become pure comedy whenever Marmol comes in. I can never stop laughing.
  13. Tiger's will is just so incredible. Like Jim Nantz said, it truly is remarkable that he can get so focused into the shot and know that once he swings he's going to be in a world of pain but still dedicate himself 100% to the shot. Simply amazing. As for Rocco, he's a real treat. It's a shame that back problems have really derailed him the last couple of years. When he walked up to the 18th green and asked if he made the putt would he be with Tiger was so great. His post-round interview when he was asked how he felt you can tell how grateful and happy he is. I'm going to be really pulling for him today.
  14. Tiger just eagled that hole... Yeah that putt was just unbelievable. 1 leg and he can't be stopped. It's amazing.
  15. Tiger just eagled that hole...
  16. People keep saying this and it's not really true, I can't remember the last time I saw people freaking out because Lou wasn't using Marmol. People do it in the game thread quite a bit, but I haven't seen it outside of there so it's probably just a quick emotional reaction wanting to win that game. Yea, that's where I've seen it.
