  1. Whelp. Ballgame. Rodney in. Not even going to get disappointed if it happens. I guess he's been decent with the Cubs? Except in extra innings, you pitch your best relievers in descending order to extend the game. Rodney definitely isn't better than Rondon.
  2. This stupid [expletive] ballpark. Can anyone PLEASE pull the ball?
  3. Well, this inning is quickly fading.
  4. Bah. You gotta walk there, Bryant.
  5. As a whole this game, still abhorrent.
  6. Atoning for your sins around here doesn't work, sadly.
  7. [expletive] AMAZING DOUBLE PLAY!
  8. Good job Joyce! You made a correct call, surprisingly.
  9. Jim Joyce is having a horrible game.
  10. Really hope we end up pulling this one out. We wouldn't be in this situation if our defense didn't fall apart and we knew how to make contact in key situations.
  11. It wasn't a blunder. Arrieta's lob toss and Baez's dropped line drive that would have been a double play.
  12. I'm so glad we gave up both runs on defensive blunders.
  13. I'm going to be less of a meatball for once and say this game could go either way.
  14. To be fair, probably doesn't walk him if Jim Joyce doesn't blow that ball two call.
  15. Thank god. Just do away with the blocking the plate rule. It's been applied like once ever.
  16. We haven't had the blocking the plate rule go our way the whole year. This better not [expletive] us over.
  17. So, asking the Cubs to make routine plays is too much now. Okay.
  18. This team has been horrid on defense lately.
  19. I know people rip on me a lot for wanting the Cubs to learn how to shorten up their swings, and I want to know why people don't think the idea of players adding another tool to their skillset is viable. Getting runs in from third with less than two outs is incredibly important, and the Cubs have paid the price in this area this year with all their strikeouts. Is it just assumed players can't learn how to adjust their swing, or it'd harm the rest of their game too much? I'm not saying Kris Bryant should turn into a slap hitter, but why can't he learn the skill of making contact when it's important to at least get a sac fly? I don't like the idea that players are ultimately set in their ways and can't make adjustments. And no, Rizzo putting on a clinic isn't magically going to fix everything, but over an offseason and during spring training, why not? I'm aware of my tendency to be a dolt around here, but I'm always willing to learn more about the game.
  20. STOP STRIKING OUT ON [expletive].
  21. What about the resurgence of the Cubs' starting pitcher tonight? That's fine because we have way more baseball karma stored up.
  22. The resurgence of Joe Blanton with the Pirates makes me want to label Pittsburgh a pixie dust team.
