  1. Does Alou carry 12 position guys and 13 pitchers?? GEEZUS! But bring on GasCan Fassero... thanks for handing us this win, Felipe! HA!! (I sure wish Dusty would pull his head out and write the lineup with Ramirez and Burnitz switched around though... nothing against Burny, but Ramirez is flaming hot right now and he would have been PERFECT in this situation)
  2. ARGGHH!!!!! Freakin Bonds' Treatment!!!
  3. Derrek Lee with the shot at the GW-ing RBI... PERFECT! CMON MVLEE!!!
  4. Excellent job of getting the bunt down, Jerry!... but bunting on an 0-2 count wasn't the right thing to do, after looking horrible on the 1st 2 attempts at it. (IMO)
  5. Looks like another late-game win tonight... nice leadoff hit, Ronny!! Walker-Lee up after we get him to 2nd on the sac bunt (hopefully! cmon Hairston!). Sounds like a W to me!
  6. I want (a good hitting) Nomar back, BADLY... but even those who are dead-set against Neifi for Cedeno or just don't like Perez, can't argue last night's GS and tonight's game-tying hit weren't the clutchest of clutch ABs. Those were HUGE. Now, where's Ronny and Nomar?? ;)
  7. (off-topic) You all must have either really fast DSL or T1 internet connections to get in 2 pages of replies while I was stuck after I hit submit. I have a bottle-necked cable connection. I literally sat on the "your post has been submitted" for 5 minutes easy before I could read all the replies since my last one.
  8. 5 pitchers and 2 position changes in one inning... Dusty's been out-Dusty'd!!
  9.   Dusty actually made a GOOD move!!     ANOTHER PITCHING CHANGE? HOW MANY GUYS DO YOU HAVE, ALOU!???
  10. Wow... Dusty actually makes a GOOD move. Wow.
  11. I don't think Kearns would cost us Hill, but Dunn most likely would, so no Dunn (at least right now, maybe in the offseason....). Murton won't and isn't getting a realistic chance to start regularly in LF because of Dusty's aversion to rookies, so we need someone to keep Hollandsworth from starting 90% of the time. I like Holla, I really do, but the stats just plain bear out that he loses effectiveness as a near full-time starter. You could suggest Geret maybe getting the bulk of the time in LF, but I don't know if I want to put my trust a guy who's nursing along a previously injured knee at the current time. Something needs to be done about that hole in the lineup from the LF's spot when Hollandsworth starts; either get a guy like Kearns/Dunn or Hendry step up and tell Dusty that he HAS to give Murton at least 66% of the starts, no matter the oppositions' starter's throwing hand. (Oh and also, not sure if we need to trade for a reliever what with Wood moving out there and all now, but Mitre is not an MLB bullpen guy. He has his moments, but they are very few and far between in the actual times I get to see him work.)
  12. Duck snort. He Gone! (God, I can't believe I said that... Hawk and DJ are the WORST announcers of all time)
  13. Good question. But being the All Star Game and the usual AL's ownership of the NL, 3 ABs might span 6-7 innings.
  14. Heck, you can justify it because manager should do what is best for the National League. With that said, if D. Lee is nursing an injury than you sub him out. Other than that D. Lee plays the whole game at first and Albert hits every time in the DH spot. I don't care to see Jason Bay or anyone else on the bench bat at the expense of Albert or D. Lee. You get into very dicey territory when the manager of a division rival (Larussa) risks the best player off another team (D. Lee) for 9 innings in an exhibition game. I mean how would Card fans feel if Dusty was managing and he had Carpenter throw 8 innings with 120 pitches to "do what is best for the National League". Your point is invalid because Dusty Baker will never be in that position (again) - at least not in Cubbie-blue. :(
