  1. Soto really needs to start hitting the ball to RF. He literally is trying to hit a HR on every swing it seems.
  2. Theriot is amazing. This guy has perfected the line drive hit to RF.
  3. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 10-9!! Nats win!
  4. Chad Fox must close. We just can't win with Wood.
  5. Which is why Cendeno and Pie will be dealt at the deadline for an arm or two. "Or two?" Those two would be lucky to net a decent starter, much less two. Well, at least one. And that combo will net us a very solid number 3 starter. Z Demp (Burnett?) Lilly Hill I would be confident in the playoffs with that, especially with this offense.
  6. Which is why Cendeno and Pie will be dealt at the deadline for an arm or two.
  7. Howry continues to be very good over the last month. Phew!!
  8. Brenly: "When you face the Cubs, it's always high stress for the pitcher. There just aren't just any easy outs up and down the lineup". 8-)
  9. I kind of feel bad for Barrett. No one loved being a Cub more them him. He just can't play defense and he doesn't have any Baseball smarts. We had to endure him for 3.5 years. However, I do like him.
  10. Scott Eyre has something like 20 straight scoreless innings. If he can regain his 2005-2006 form, we're gold.
  11. Phew! Well, we just padded the division lead on the: cough, cough, road. =D> Make it 3.5 over the Cardinals, our biggest lead of the year. 8-)
  12. Can anyone photoshop Marmol wearing a fireman's suit? He should be required to pitch in that when he is out there. Man, we are lucky to have him.
  13. We simply can't win with Wood.
  14. The Cubs and Cardinals started the week tied for 1st, with the Astros 1 back. One week later, the Cubs move to 2.5 ahead of the Cardinals and 6.5 ahead of the Astros. Tough week for the rest of the Central, in particular, the Astros. 8-)
  15. I must have missed the memo that Murton was good or something. :-k I have never seen a player hit as many weak grounders then him. As far as Pie, well, the kid has struggled and quite honestly has looked lost up here. I also understand that Edmonds has been bad. That said, Pie needs to show a semblance of the strike zone if he wants to stay here.
  16. As good as he is at getting on base and playing very good defense, who here is not happy with his offensive production? Seriously, I was not on board for a projected total of 7 HR and about 55 RBI. I'll chalk up his almost a 3rd of a way through numbers as a getting to know the pitchers. However, he needs to be more productive.
  17. A pretty good statisical breakdown of the team. He usually is way off base but he is pretty spot on in this article. IMO. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8159418?MSNHPHMA
  18. http://www.jimporett.com/images/superfanredux.jpg "It's a mimimum 100 peat, my friend. Also, Geovany Soto will play QB for DA BEARS and replace Grossman, cementing a minimum 10 peat for DA BEARS!"
  19. http://www.jimporett.com/images/superfanredux.jpg "After a league enforced rule, Geovany Soto will come to the plate with two strikes on him and he must bat left handed. With the new rule, he is now projected to hit 99 HR and knock in 278". Da Cuuubbbs!
  20. http://www.jimporett.com/images/superfanredux.jpg "MLB will need to impose a new rule that the Norths side nine must only play with three players in order to keep games within 10 runs for the opposition my friends".
  21. I really hope he succeds with the Cubs, but, ugh... It'll take a while to get over his STL days. That catch eased the process a bit. I understand. That said, it's a pretty safe bet he is bitter towards the Cardinals right now. He wanted to come here for a reason and that was to stick it to them. I like that.
  22. Enough of the Edmonds hate, He's a Cub now. If he doesn't make that catch, it's a different game. That was a game changing catch.
  23. The Astros bench looks dazed, especially Berkman. Ballgame!!!!!!
