As another poster said, we are 2 inches away (Crede's diving catch on Soto would have scored 2) and a CF with good legs (RJ scores on Cedneo's double) from leading this game by 2 runs. Quentin's HR was a wind tunnel shot, although that's just mother nature; not much you can do about that.

And people say Wrigley is a hitters park. That ball literally took off in a wind tunnel.

That's one hell of an effort by a 22 year old rookie in an emotional series. This will do nothing but serve him better down the road. The numbers will not say it, but if you look at the whole picture going back to yesterday= =D>

I never said Patterson is ready to be playing every day at the big league level. I don't think there is any question that he shouldn't be. I do think E-Patt has a lot of talent and I hope he gets a fair shot in the future. There are plenty of players who have bad games, weeks, etc.. The fact E-Patt is a rookie who is playing out of position shouldn't be held against him, which is what I fear might happen. If we are going to trade him, benching him, or sending him down does nothing but dimish his trade value. -

I must admit it is starting to concern me that once one of the "rooks" has a bad game, he's banished to the bench, or triple A to lose his confidence. -

If they have been watching tape, they are watching the wrong one. By now he should have this corrected. You say this as if hitting major league pitching is easy. I never said that. The fact Lee leads the world in grounding into double plays should be cause for concern from your 3 hitter. There is something in his swing that is causing him to keep beating the ball in the ground. Derrek Lee needs to be hitting fly balls, not leading the world in double plays.

I'm VERY concerned with D-Lee. There is obviously something wrong with his swing for him to be on pace to break the all time DP record. It's time for he and Perry to watch the videos and see what's wrong. At this point I think he should be hitting 5th or 6th. That DP in the 3rd changed the entire game. If Lee comes through there, you have Aramis up and you start to pile on.

Well, the Cubs had beat the White Sox 9 out of 10, so they were due to finally win a game against us; No biggie. Only a few more games until interleague is over and we can concentrate on the teams that matter the most. All that said, I'm VERY concerned with D-Lee.
