Which is why Cendeno and Pie will be dealt at the deadline for an arm or two. "Or two?" Those two would be lucky to net a decent starter, much less two. Well, at least one. And that combo will net us a very solid number 3 starter. Z Demp (Burnett?) Lilly Hill I would be confident in the playoffs with that, especially with this offense.
I kind of feel bad for Barrett. No one loved being a Cub more them him. He just can't play defense and he doesn't have any Baseball smarts. We had to endure him for 3.5 years. However, I do like him.
The Cubs and Cardinals started the week tied for 1st, with the Astros 1 back. One week later, the Cubs move to 2.5 ahead of the Cardinals and 6.5 ahead of the Astros. Tough week for the rest of the Central, in particular, the Astros. 8-)
I must have missed the memo that Murton was good or something. :-k I have never seen a player hit as many weak grounders then him. As far as Pie, well, the kid has struggled and quite honestly has looked lost up here. I also understand that Edmonds has been bad. That said, Pie needs to show a semblance of the strike zone if he wants to stay here.
As good as he is at getting on base and playing very good defense, who here is not happy with his offensive production? Seriously, I was not on board for a projected total of 7 HR and about 55 RBI. I'll chalk up his almost a 3rd of a way through numbers as a getting to know the pitchers. However, he needs to be more productive.
A pretty good statisical breakdown of the team. He usually is way off base but he is pretty spot on in this article. IMO. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8159418?MSNHPHMA

http://www.jimporett.com/images/superfanredux.jpg "After a league enforced rule, Geovany Soto will come to the plate with two strikes on him and he must bat left handed. With the new rule, he is now projected to hit 99 HR and knock in 278". Da Cuuubbbs!

I really hope he succeds with the Cubs, but, ugh... It'll take a while to get over his STL days. That catch eased the process a bit. I understand. That said, it's a pretty safe bet he is bitter towards the Cardinals right now. He wanted to come here for a reason and that was to stick it to them. I like that.
