  1. yeah. i'm not much of a merchandise collector at all. i used to own a sammy sosa bobblehead until its head bobbled right off, and that's about the extent of my bobblehead collecting history. the rizz/kb one was sweet, and it would have been cool to have, but i was more just baffled how poorly the whole thing was run. and they were immediately--like right after we found our seats in the bleachers--showing up on ebay for several hundred dollars. People were selling the Baez ones on the spot for at least $100. I checked today out of curiosity on eBay after this came up and they're still going for at least $135. Madness. Good on you to hand yours over to a kid! I have a bunch from the Cubs and Blackhawks over the years. At least the Blackhawks handed them out to the first 10K of a 20K seat stadium. I probably have about 15 bobbleheads from sporting events over the last 20 years and I wonder now why the hell I even bothered. I don't know why I would sit outside in line for 45 minutes on a January night with the temperature around 1 degree waiting for a Marian Hossa bobblehead that never left its box. Especially seeing that most of the people were douche canoes waiting to make $50-$200 on Ebay. Maybe I will hand them over to my two sons when they get older but chances are they won't give a flying horsefeathers about them anyway.
  2. I would love to be up there in the stands for NLDS game 3 as the Cubs sweep them
  3. Maybe he is from the future like Reese talking to the present day umpires about Robot umpires of the future? [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  4. Its far more likely that they are in for a sustained losing stretch than a winning stretch. Their wins are by 1 run and their losses are RD games.
  5. Great, Seal Boy the #5 hitter in this spot down 3

  7. I went to bed when Zimmerman made it 3-0. Had a dream the Cubs won 4-3. I just checked my phone it was 4-3! Holy horsefeathers!
  8. The NL wild card game is going to be AZ vs Atl/Philly while the VBs are sitting home right?

  10. At least the Royal bullpen is coming in so we shouldn't get shutout
  11. I will laugh when both the Astros and Dodgers don't make it out of the Division Series this year.
  12. Your Italian Beef pic for the last game thread worked well, now how about some Chicago steak? http://www.chicagobusiness.com/assets/interactive/charticles/grilledSteak.gif
  13. They likely are but also 6-7 is really not that bad of a “tough stretch” and obviously yes it’s a problem if it turns in to like 25-28 the rest of the way or whatever is left Cubs have 4 vs SD this week then 3 in KC. Anything less than 6-2 vs them and the Pirates tomorrow would be disappointing. I know it's baseball but August should be a very good month
