  1. The Bears wouldn't have been in the Super Bowl without Grossman this year. He's not ideal by any stretch. But Griese sure as hell isn't a sure thing for glory. I agree Griese wouldn't be better. But I don't think mediocre is ok just because we don't have anything better when we're going into the offseason now, and can try to get something better. I understand our options are limited, but I think Angelo has to look at all of those options and figure out if Rex really is the best option. I'm not sure he is. There's no obvious free agent option. There's no chance of a near-term solution via the draft. The Bears need to put 100% of their QB efforts behind making Rex better. Or at the most, put some of that into drafting a future QB in the middle rounds. But barring any miracle situation where they discover a diamond in the rough off somebody else's bench, Grossman is the QB. Yeah, I guess I just don't like the "there's no other choice" argument. I know there's injury concerns, but if you could get Byron Leftwich for say a 4th or 5th round pick, would you do it? i'd stay away from leftwich...
  2. It doesn't matter what your intentions are, the result is the same. Nobody ever said the Bears are good in rain. The cold and snow was an advantage against New Orleans mostly because the Saints never played in those conditions. The rain is bad for the Bears. And the rain was good for the Colts? Hell, they're a dome team. THE COLT PLAYERS WERE ALL CLAINING BEFORE THE GAME IT WAS GOOD FOR THEM BECUSE OF THE BUILD-UP OF THE FIELD, THE RAIN MADE THE FIELD FASTER.. OF COURSE, THIS SHOULD HAVE HELPED THE BEARS D BOTTOM LINE, THE COLTS HANDLED THE RAIN MUCH BETTER THEN THE BEARS DID, AND YET THE BEARS WERE IN IT UNTIL THE END. I LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR
  3. I have to confess. At the beginning of the season, I never REALY thought we would be here today. It never really had crossed my mind. Its really starting to hit me. GO BEARS
  4. has anyone heard anything about a Philadelphia team yet? mls?
  5. thats what i am up to. I told a friend exactly this (that I wouldnt sleep tonite or tomorrow), but i intend to get some sleep somehow. GO BEARS
  6. I disagree. Look at what happened since Mike Brown went down. Teams were suddenly able to run on the Bears. Now it gets even worse with Harris gone. Did you see the way Minnesota was able to run the ball after he left the game? It's frightening to think about. they were before and after he left. its no secret, you put 2 guys on Harris, 2 on Tank and you can run up the middle. Rivera needs to adjust to this.
  7. It doesn't help that the play-calling is so aggressive, but I agree wholeheartedly. It's really the tale of decline, and it's not because it's against good teams. However, I STILL don't see the point of starting Griese. Change the game plan, keep Rex on a leash, whatever, but Griese still shouldn't start. But the QB situation combined with the Harris injury has me very, very close to the panic button. I'm less worried about the Harris injury. I love Tommie, but we have a good DT rotation. The Grossman thing boggles me. Maybe he need to be motivated/head cleared by a Griese start but I dont believe Griese will carry this team anywhere
  8. thats what I fear. I dont know what the problem is. Turner? Grossman's brashness? I dont get it. He was phenomenal early in the season, now just junk. I think he needs a mental break.
