  1. well, rotoworld liked Bennett, and thought of him as a 2nd rd: http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=nfl&id=4718
  2. go to chicagosports.com, under photos of Williams, the last pic is one of Williams and Bennett celebrating a td. profetic???
  3. aaannd the Bungles take another headcase in Sims back to Bennett, this guy looks like the heir apparrent to Booker. wish he has abit more speed tho..
  4. Moore, Cousins, Doucet are my top 3 choices for the Bears right now. Moore Best avail OG plz
  5. yes, and after some research, I found a 40 yrd of 4.4 from Wikianswers. Maybe IMB can chime in, I think he is the resident APETE expert....
  6. Manning was abit over 4.3 I think. Hester was at 4.45 (which was disappointing). Forte has good speed for a RB (4.46), not great speed. But he also has size. the thing I like about both Hester and Forte is their abilities to cut back at what seems like top speed. edit: for reference on the importance of the 40 yrd in regards to RB, APeterson (Vikings) ran it at 4.55. Forte is BIGGER and FASTER the APETE. I am not saying he will be better, but in football those stats can be misleading. Was Peterson injured when he ran that? was he? I didnt know that, although I cant imagine why he would agree to running it if he was injured.
  7. the bears essentially got Mendenhall in Forte. Forte has more mileage, but didnt cost them alot in picks as would have Mendenhall. Unfortunately, they Bears need much more then RB I don't think Forte is quite as good as Mendenhall. in order for the Bears to deal with their issues @ LT and still land Mendenhall, they would have had to give up alot in picks. They simply didnt have that luxury. I liked Mendenhall alot too, and would have loved to have him, but I knew a few months ago when the RMendenhall Hype Machine picked up that the Bears weren't going to land him. my best case scenario was to have RM fall to the Bears in the 2nd. That just didnt happen. the best thing that came about in all of this is the Lions continued to suck and didnt draft him.

  9. one reason for the Bears not drafting a guy like Brohm or Henne would be to solidify the pos. In other words, the most popular guy in Chicago come Fall is always the #2 QB. The Bears need to find a guy, and ride him out. neither Brohm nor Henne presented a sure-fire winner over Orton/Grossman. The Bears need to learn how to develop that pos. Bringing in a guy like Henne or Brohm, who many though should have gone in the 1st rd, would only intensify the haste in their development. It isnt TALENT the bears lack at QB, its patience and coaching skills. fix that first, then find they guy with the talent and drive.

  11. I care...isn't that enough? well, they have Jeff Fisher, and for Bear fans, that is some endearment Exactly. Bear fans should be secondary Titan fans. It only makes sense. dont press your luck buddy.....
  12. yes, Dre Moore plz..... also: Scheuning or Greco, very nice late 3rd's that help the O-line

  14. Minny's post 1st day draft analysis: NAME POS SCHOOL GRADE Williams, OT, Vanderbilt A Chris is what the Bears needed, a true left tackle. Albert would have been a good option, but the unknown of a player who has limited time in the position of most need wasnt enough. Williams, quite frankly, was the expected pick by Angelo & co. Clady would have been nice as well, but was drafted before the Bears pick. Williams will serve the Bears well, and instantly improves a horrid oline by moving Tait to his natural RT pos and likely replacing him with a more natural and gifted LT. Just about the only OT I would rather have would have been Long. I think Clady and Williams are very interchangeable. Dare I say, Big Cat Williams, part duex? Forte', RB, Tulane B- My initial reaction was WTF? I wanted one of the stud WR's who had dropped out of the 1st round BADLY. Sweed or Kelly would have looked BEAUTIFUL in the 2nd rd. But lets look at the make-up of the Bears roster. At RB they have: a #4 pick who is a bust, a late rounder who has never replaced the bust, and a change of pace back who will likely never start. At WR they have: a guy who has had multiple 1000 yrd seasons, a 2nd rd who in previous years was blocked by and over-priced vet and a guy who got an insane amount of money to go elsewhere, a complete project in Hester, and two VERY good TE's. All this adds up to say WR has some unknowns, but has far more potential to be good then RB. The only part of the pick I am not crazy about is that Forte is a guy who very well could have been there in the 3rd, giving the Bears an opportunity to explore other pos here, like G, QB, or even a DB. Forte was the safe meat and potatoes pick, and will likely give the O a big boost. He has good size and speed, but also has alot of miles. It will be interesting to see how good he will be behind a much improved O-line. Edit: also, the Bears could have looked at a guy like Kevin Smith in Rd 3
  15. Oh Hell yes. lol..nice picks Balsa, we'll see about the 3rd one.....
  16. its been abit like a fantasy football draft
  17. isnt Brohm abit of Aaron Rogers redux? west coast QB? or am i mixing him up w/someone else?
  18. edit: double post
  19. oo, no. I was just giving Fortes 40 yrd #'s as a benchmark since I dont remember Smith's.
  20. Big Ben, Mendenahll, Sweed they pretty much had to keep up with Cleveland, and I think they did...
  21. That's exactly who he reminds me of too. Maybe a little slower, but similar running style and slightly tougher. I dont remember how fast Smith was, but Forte ran a 4.46 at the combine..and the way he snakes through holes and uses his vision is a mirror of Smith Wasn't Smith a world-class sprinter? could have been, but I dont remember Yeah he was, that's why I said Forte was a little slower. That kinda sounds like I'm being an a-hole, but I'm not trying to be. something else from the Bears board, but it is claimed that Forte had ZERO fumbles in 4 years @ Tulane, thats pretty amazing knock on wood

  24. time to build the hype....I guess reminds me abit of Robert Smith from the vikings
  25. I think CB has soured them Forte is a good all around back. he compares to Mendenhall, blocks, catches the pass, can run inside, has good speed. he wasnt the glitzy pick, and maybe not even a good #2, but he will produce.
