  1. I have a drastically different opinion of the Packers roster. its solid, but I wouldn't declare it Super Bowl
  2. well, I'll take a coaching controversy in GB next year.
  3. this gave me a chuckle. they really need to win tomorrow
  4. I would think with all the hype for the Packer's season, if they miss the playoffs, McCarthy would get the boot. Is that a fair assessment, or does he have more staying power?
  5. Are you done yet? Anyway, because of the costs associated with making the field cold weather tolerant I can understand, but it can't be that much more expensive to have concession stands that can operate in cold temps. That just seems weird to me. Are they sticking with the no alcohol policy that I think I heard earlier this week? I'm never done when I see moronic arguments on an issue someone has no f-in clue about. but yes, the Vikings have stated there will be no alcohol sales, although the University gave them that option. Don't know why, but its Ziggy Wilf and his clown posse.
  6. yea guys, I mean the University of Minnesota should always prepare (and likely pay) for any of the issues the Minnesota Vikings could possibly have.
  7. I think people have Minneapolis and Tower MN completely confused
  8. hey, I have an idea. Why didnt the Stadium designers just pay for the whole damn stadium out of their pockets? and all the needs of the NFL too? stupid designers.
  9. It's not even close to the first time that happened, plus the snow helped more than anything. AGAIN, the Vikings gave no money to the stadium to prepare for such an event.
  10. Consensus is that it's a pretty great stadium. Opposite end of the spectrum from having to play in the dome for the Gophers. great in September and October, maybe. Seems completely inadequate in cold weather That's kind of like saying they botched Madison Square Garden because it's not suited for international soccer competitions. Ecept not at all. It's a football field in Minnesota not designed for weather you can easily get in college football season. And there was talk of the Vikings sharing it at one point. Just makes no sense. at which time the Vikings were to foot the bill for the heating coils, concession stands (for NFL games) etc. but, the vikings kind of backed out of that. yea, those stupid designers and University people. you should have planned for EVERYTHING with out wasting the taxpayers money. DUH
  11. Consensus is that it's a pretty great stadium. Opposite end of the spectrum from having to play in the dome for the Gophers. great in September and October, maybe. Seems completely inadequate in cold weather yea because they designed it for late January Is it January? Does it never get below freezing during college football season in Minneapolis? what part of "they shut the stadium down after the college season" dont you get?

  13. oh waaa waaa waaa play the damn game already
  14. I think no alcohol will create a very quite crowd right around halftime
  15. Is the stadium on campus? yes. and for the 2nd time, the U of MN doesnt allow the sale of alcohol on campus
  16. Forgot about that, but wasn't alcohol was sold when the Bears played at U of I a few years back? dont know, never went to one of those games
  17. Maybe they should just forefit the game. That would be the break to end all breaks. They could use the White Sox forfeiting a game when (old) Comiskey Park was unplayable following Disco Demolition Night as precedence to argue for a forfeit due to an unplayable field. :D OK, back to reality. when was this? before you were born
  18. I highly suspect that since Childress is now gone, so too will Favre be. Frazier will probably be done with him not only because of age, but also a desire to move the team in his ideal
  19. The University of Minnesota prohibits sale of alcohol on campus, or at least did while I attended
  20. This is a ridiculous statement. You prepare for specific games. You don't have dome game plans and outdoor game plans and mix and match accordingly. You play the Vikings differently in Soldier Field than in Minnesota, and you play differently at Detroit than at Minnesota. If you do not know whether a game vs a dome team is going to take place in a dome or in 13 degree open air at night you are in trouble. whatever man. I really think you are making a huge issue out of a minor one, really. Where an NFL game is going to be played matters. sure, but its not as if the teams will know at 10 minutes before kickoff. I really think its a bigger issue to go from the RollerDome to Ford Field then it is to go fro the RollerDome to TCF, and I cant believe an NFL team is going to withhold that information from an opposing NFL for longer then a day.

  22. also, it sucks because the Giants are now more likely to beat the Vikings then if they were able to play at TCF. They will be playing on a neutral field now, without the crowd that they would get in Minneapolis. this isnt about the wonderful availability of amenities 600 miles away
  23. I was thinking you were a Minny person. It's their own damn fault for playing in a decrepit stadium that is prone to roof collapses. You can't blame the NFL for putting the game in Ford Field. It's like Houston people whining about the Miller Park games. If their owner did a better job in advance of that hurricane, it could have been resolved differently. The timing of the issue can't really be pushed aside. Coaches are already making game plans for next week. I didn't think I blamed anyone for it, I simply said it sucked. and, how, other then clothing or shoes, does the change of fields change coaching? Its our Offense vs their Defense, and vice versa. Its not like we are Miami and we never play in cold weather. How can you honestly ask that question. Field conditions matter. Domes and 15 degree nights matter. I don't see why it sucks. The roller dome sucks, but having another midwestern dome to play in a day later is a blessing more than something that sucks. but given the division and the mix of different types of stadiums (domes vs open air), mix of weather conditions, I would think they would have a decent idea of what they want to do regardless. so, you prepare for both conditions until the condition is known, then you focus on that mindset. it really shouldn't matter unless your coaching staff is woefully inadequate. but, I guess, there is that.
