  1. so does Peyton have a broken leg? also, screw Schwartz, Harbaugh was overly excited, but I doubt his handshake was anything malicious
  2. honestly, I think you have the wrong poster
  3. and the Cubs wont give up McNutt because Theo and Ricketts wouldn't allow it to happen
  4. Or don't come here and pretend it's locked. Nobody is forcing you to click on the thread. but its sooo hard to not watch the train wreck that is the accumulation of your posts
  5. they grow up soooo fast
  6. I have no problem giving up McNutt for another stud bb player, but giving him up for a manager who we are already are giving a promotion to is insane. Boston should settle for Brownlie and cash. and yes, I know BB isnt around anymore.
  7. he looks exactly (albeit 125lbs heavier) like a coworker of mine.
  8. the point is they can't just choose to keep him upright. They aren't good at blocking and they aren't good at receiving. They aren't good at gaining yards and they aren't good at scoring. Get a better receiver and things will be a little better. they did a hell of a job of it last night against the best pass rusher in the league, and his croonies who aren't too bad at it themselves. They can choose to do it. before yesterday, Minnesota had the 3rd most sacks IN THE LEAGUE (also to note, Detroit is surprisingly not as good and Chicago's 4 sack game yesterday will likely move them up): http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=null&role=OPP&offensiveStatisticCategory=null&defensiveStatisticCategory=SACKS&season=2011&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go
  9. keep Cutler upright, and it isnt an issue.
  10. yea, I'm not convinced this ever has a chance of being anything but a mythical dream. If Miamis issues are on offense, why would they trade away their best offensive player? idk
  11. In 2008, the last year he was with Cutler, he has 12 receptions for 5 td's in the red zone. which is why I pose the "QB and OC" question. the QB part of it seems good, but throw Martz into it and what do you get? again, not opposed, just tempering my own enthusiasm for something that is already a long shot and may not even pay off if it was executed. Roy Williams has done better more recently: http://www.nfl.com/player/roywilliams/2506096/situationalstats?season=2009 and had 4 last year
  12. Epstein + Beckett for McNutt and cash. i
  13. actually, the red zone inefficiencies make me crave Olsen more then ever. 3 catches, 3 TD's inside the 20: http://www.nfl.com/player/gregolsen/2495700/situationalstats
  14. yesterday (and when the offense clicks in general, ie pass protection), getting to the red zone was never a problem. Getting into the end zone IS an issue for them once they do get inside the 20. I'd love to get Marshall, but I'm not sure he makes the impact many seem to think he would.
  15. Marshall has 1 [expletive] catch this season in the red zone: http://www.nfl.com/player/brandonmarshall/2495893/situationalstats how much of that is the QB and OC, and how much of that is his abilities?
  16. Having more yards does not automatically make one a better receiver. well no [expletive]. the point I'm making is that we need a CJ type (who can score once we're in the red zone) and less of the BM type (whose numbers translate into more a possession type).
  17. the only thing Johnson does better is score TD's. Marshall consistently has more yards per year http://www.nfl.com/player/calvinjohnson/2495647/profile http://www.nfl.com/player/brandonmarshall/2495893/profile
  18. dont know if it was posted and I'm too lazy to look, but a deal by Wednesday (?): http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2011/10/report-boston-asking-for-trey-mcnutt/
  19. My impression is that while he isn't as good as Johnson, he is the same type of receiver. as i said, i don't see much of a difference other than that johnson can jump a little higher and marshall is a bit more physical. marshall seems to be a bit more of a possession receiver as well and isn't used quite so much in the red zone for some reason. Johnson seems to be more sane, tough and dependable. Banedon's first post says that Marshall and Cutler have a good relationship, albeit in 2010. However, if Marshall isn't used int eh red zone as much, doesn't that go against what we think we need?
  20. meaning Marshall could be had for a #3 or 4 (assuming he could be had)? do it.
  21. I guess my impression of Marshall isn't a Calvin Johnson type - who I would consider "un-coverable". And with the way the O-line is, the CJ WR type is the kind you would have to have in order to make up the difference in how bad the line is. I'd love to have a true #1 WR, but I want a responsible trade for Marshall if it were to happen.
  22. Cutler isn't responding to Marshall speculation probably because he's more concerned with the o-line at this point. He has decent WR's, and get plenty of passing yards when he has time-sometimes even when he doesn't have time. He probably feels the o-line is a much bigger focus of need. with the way Cutler spreads the ball around, how much of a difference would Marshall really make?
  23. Fine with me. I don't understand how you can play as poorly as he played last week, and then have the type of reaction he had to being demoted this week. I'm guessing this is part of the reason why he didn't dress, because he turned into captain sulk last week. Yeah, I'd have a hard time getting worked up over a Harris trade. Can't even blame last week on injury. He was just playing dumb. better question, what can we get for him? Is Miami in need for a safety? Marshall for Harris and our 4th rd?
  24. The biggest knock on Paea (aside from Sulleys personal distaste) has been his relative size and strength. He's small (or short) for a NFL DL, and in college relied on his freakish strength to handle O-lineman than many didn't think would translate to the NFL too easily. But, I think its clear, he has enough technique to go with his strength that he could be a good DL. He's plenty stout, and showed last night he has a good first jump off the line. Okoye and Paea could be a hell of a combo going forward.
