  1. "Tyler Palko is our quarterback"
  2. Minnesota? What's that? a great place for walleye fishing
  3. also a 40 yrd ++ throw to Knox. who cares, they piled the yards up they just made dumb mistakes.
  4. so, the Sun Times "10 Observations" has this: thats interesting. also:
  5. so what, they blew nearly 20 seconds returning the int and still got 2 plays in before the fg. there was time to run at least 1 run play, possibly 2 and call a to to kick the fg.
  6. IM PISSED lol. God we have to beat KC.
  7. watch the play again, it shifts EVERYONE to the right with Davis to the left, and Hanie hast to run back to his right 8 yards, turn and throw it across the field to Davis. That pay has no [expletive] business in any playbook where defense players can run faster then 5.5 40 yrd. Add to it Hanie threw it off his back foot off balance and across his body. jesus christ I wouldn't even call that play with Cutler in at QB AND we were at the 50 trd line. THE WHOLE OFFENSE except maybe 2 guys are on the WRONG side of the field headed the WRONG way, so if it does get picked, its going the other way in a BIG hurry, and very little chance to stop them. Louis made the play of the game running him down. hell, I wouldnt call the play with AARON RODGERS. its stupid. and Hanie botched the execution.
  8. A run, or preferably a safer pass over the middle and/or in a only we can catch it spot. Basically nothing risky. You settle for the FG at that point and go into the half ecstatic. It was an idiotic play call and it's really stupid to pretend that it monday morning quarterbacking. It was exactly the type of thing I didn't want them doing at the time of the play, not the next day. Also, according to the video of this play the Bears had a timeout available. There was no need to spike it. But if they end up 1st and goal from the 4 there's still plenty of time to try and throw 2 relatively safe pass plays and then kick. You have to save the timeout for the absolute last seconds to ensure you can stop the clock to kick a field goal. They run the ball and call a timeout then get sacked trying to score, then no FG. what the hell are you talking about? Hanie threw an INT and Oakland still had time for 2 plays and a FG try. there was PLENTY of time for a run play, possibly 2.
  9. I'll admit, I absolutely hate short pass plays in the flats. they go for way too many pic-6's then they ever seem worth. I just would have much rather just kept pounding Barber, and if we had to settle for a FG, so be it. the momentum of the game was swinging our way at that point.
  10. especially when the opposing D had been completely keyed on the screen plays all day.
  11. anything in the flat with a compressed defense and *essentially* a rookie QB is not a good play call.
  12. If the throws it on a line it's a tackle for a loss. he lobs it and its a pick -6 save a great play by the starting tackle
  13. Martz called for 40 passes and 23 rushes. Hanie was off on a few throws, but Cutler has thrown his share of bad passes as well. Also, in this offense, when we get a big run from Forte early and Martz doesn't sell out, we win. Yesterdays game almost directly mirrored earlier games from this season, it was simply amplified by the fact we had Hanie and not Cutler. If Hanie can corral his risk-taking and make better decisions, he'll be fine. I really expected him to go out and gun sling yesterday as it seemed he was primed for that. And actually, he did better then I expected. Hopefully, yesterday taught him a few things, namely, clam the [expletive] down and process your progressions. But Martz has to do a better job with play calling. I realize he doesn't want to dumb down anything because he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but he has to also realize that there are correct play calls and [expletive] ones, regardless of anyone's feelings.
  14. I'm not as down on Hanie as you appear to be. He had 3 ints, 2 of which were really bad decisions. The third was a bad play call following a misread on Hanie's part (he should have seen the 2 defenders). Out of all that, Oakland got 6 points. That's it. Hanie can make the throws, his deep pass to Knox showed his arm, and he can scramble. He's just so [expletive] raw. The defense really needs to do better this game, and especially the special teams. Leckler (or whatever the hell his name is ) killed us. We just didn't match up to them well enough.
  15. Apparently, Orton knew http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago-bears/2011/11/28/2591450/caleb-hanie-chicago-bears-2011-jay-cutler-kyle-orton
  16. Orton wasn't all that great earlier in the season, in fact he was probably below average. the real question is whether or not our D will show up. They played "Lets give up FG's" yesterday, but Oakland basically went down the field at will.
  17. jesus christ I have no idea why I do that
  18. also, lets never post again game #11 thread again. Its all too painful to realize Jay is gone.
  19. Treymon loses thread starting privies as the Bears lose. I'm hoping that was Hanies learning game as I expected it to be. This week we've got KC who held Pitt tight. Maybe we'll get to play Neckbeard, but I'd rather see Andy Pafko's long lost grandson. or is it Palko? I guess I'm trying to say this guy is so damn obscure we cant possibly lose to him...
  20. he got nailed to a cross. is that what you hope for this young man, Tebow?
  21. thank you, but lets face it, it wasnt hard to do. They guy came out talking about not being a "game manager" and wanting to throw the ball. It was his first game this season under a really complex offensive scheme, he was bound to have a rough game. The thing I really like about Hanie (and its something I love about Cutler) is that he just doesn't care that it could be rough. Hanie will pick up this offense and have a very good game, likely even a string of games. The question is whether or not he will in time to save the season. The only other option is to play it safe and ram Forte/Barber down everyones throats. That would have been a better game plan for today, but you know Martz wont do that. Kansas City. I wonder how quick Hanie can learn, I'm guessing pretty quick. At least I'm hoping.
  22. well, hopefully Hanie got his bad decisions out of his system. That sucked, we could have used a W
