How do you figure? Well, he had to say something so he said that because it was a thing to say. And naturally, you had to make a comment such as that in response because it's your thing that you do. It's all a part of the circle of life. If he hadn't done it first, I would have. And if you hadn't, one of the others would. I know the drill. lol

Do the stats back that? I know there is a pretty small sample size. I hear people say that he is a great fielder all the time, but is that just because he is fast and hustles? Or is he really a good fielder? There are no fielding stats (not even the newer ones) that are accurate...for outfielders... You cant judge him much fastre he is than Sori..How many more balls he'd get to. Sometimes just getting to the ball stops the runner. You can only use the 'eye-test on that.. He has speed that takes away hits..obviously and his arm is average. But you are right, in my mind. his sample size is VERY small. He's been used as a bit player until now and he hasnt played as much as we think he has... Dale has been patient with him the last week..as Dale has been with Ian Stewart..who has much more of a track record .. For the record..I'd play him against right handers and use him as the 'bench weapon' when lefties start. If Sori is moved this year..LaHair will go to left and Tony would be the late inning 'caddy' did you transcribe these thoughts from a ticker tape machine in your abdomen? hahaha

Mike Minor isn't anywhere close to reaching his potential. He'd be a good buy low candidate, IMO. I like Minor, despite his struggles, if he puts it together he could be a very good pitcher. And really, what are you expecting in terms of MLB talent for a half year rental of a 35 year old pitcher? A guy that hasn't been horrific in a full season's worth of ML starts. Yeah and at the ages of 23 and 24 180 innings is a good indicator to pass on a guy who, just last year, was a top MLB pitching prospect. Good logic there. Let's pass on the big potential of a young, under-control-for-several-more-years pitcher with a good pedigree because he hasn't cut the mustard in parts of two seasons. This player, over the course of two partial seasons totaling a full seasons worth of starts (more or less), at the age of 23 and 24, put up this line... 6.09ERA 29GS 9W-10L 173IP 140K 79ERA+ 10.6H/9 3.5BB/9 7.3K/9 He was a top prospect in baseball before his age 23 season. Would you trade Dempster for that if you knew it was Roy Halladay? OWNED ha ha dummy, you wouldn't trade dempster for a 23 year old roy halladay??? what are you stupid or something??? maybe he doesn't like his hair

This is awesome. Still sad that he has lost so much velocity but it sure beats the low 80's or wherever he was the last time he pitched for us. 90-92 isn't too far off from where he used to be. Looks like he threw 92-93 on average with his fastball according to fangraphs. I just hope that he'll pitch another 7-9 years as a shut down reliever. That would be awesome. yeah, 90-92 was about where he pitched at in chicago. his 4-seamer would top out around 94, maybe 95, and his 2-seamer was anywhere from 89-92. i still hope he ends up starting again. I thought he pitched faster then that, consistently around 96. His pitch speed rivaled Kerry's iirc.

its interesting. it suggests that the defensive player is independent of their position COMPLETELY. IT used to be, power @ 1b, 3b, RF, etc because thats where big guys could play. The Jays have an interesting take, albeit it could be off the deep end. i wonder how this will develop. -
