I grew up an Illini fan, but could never get into the school. My grades were too low in HS, so I went to cc. Got my grades up to the point I felt good enough to take a chance at a school that actually had Architecture as major. In then end, I wound up at MN, or as they call it in the TC (and have since the 40's), the "U". Minnesota gave me that shot, and I have become deeply grateful to them for it. I went through the METRODOME years. The Glen Mason era. That was pretty cool. I remember listening to the Iowa game working on my house in MPLS on a radio with my daughter in my wifes belly thinking I REALLY NEED TO FINISH THIS [expletive] BUT JESUS JUST BEAT IOWA. We ended up beating Iowa, Wisconsin, and even Michigan. But never in the same season. Coming from Illinois and having friends and relatives at both SIU and NIU, I watch Jerry Kill build football PROGRAMS, not teams. I remember thinking when he was at NIU, god, if only we could get a guy like Jerry Kill. And our own campus stadium. And then we did, both. I wont even get into his seizure issues, to me they are pebbles on the road. Saturday will be a BIG day for me. Jerry Kill goes for the trifecta, Iowa, Michigan and *maybe* Wisconsin in one season. hasnt happened in 40 some years. SKI U MAH.
