The record isn't even what he hangs his hat on, he only has a case because he did it with a backup QB i think Minnesota actually played out the season with no QB Leidner is a TE behind the center. we literally had a 0 passing game.
I'd lean towards him too. Meyer is the only one with an argument. I hate to carry the torch for OSU here, but what does a Buckeye coach have to do to win that award? Coach a dreadful program like Minnesota to an 8 win season. Kill is building that program, its not just this years work fair or not.
Cutler has fumbled a lot, thrown bad ints, and looked pretty apathetic in the season, but he hasn't been the train wreck the defense has been. Or the coaching decisions, lack of adjustments, and MEL TUCKER.
I was thinking "wow this could be just like the 1994 Bears team" but it really won't be. That team backed into the playoffs, this one needs to get its head out of its ass and have a miracle happen all at once.
2009 was really the only WS they won under the "buy all the FAs" strategy. Their successes in the late 90's were largely from a home grown operation. True, but 2009 wasn't the only year they were in the WS or really damn close under the buy buy buy strategy, and considering that's a lot further then our Cubs have mustered, I'd take it
You could be talking to/about so many different people/things right now. Guys, I totally trust the inter webs and all the twitter rumors and some random dude who claims a remote relationship to Jon Lester if it means we get Jon [expletive] Lester. I mean, purple Fanta led us to Theo and the White Sox won the World Series with Ozzie as a manager. nothing reallllly makes sense in the end.
