  1. This. Absolutely go out and bring in some league minimum guys or use a 7th round pick or whatever to have a competition, but you can't spend real money on another kicker. The team has 25 in cap room after they cut Sims, but they need to retain or replace Amos, Callahan, and Massie as well as some of the depth guys like Lynch. Trevathan and Long are both cuttable, but either of those would be a robbing Peter to pay Paul situation IMO. Also, as bad as Parkey has been this year, the difference between his season and an average one is like 2-3 extra FGs and 1-2 extra points. Those can be important but it's not worth like $10m in effective salary salary. Parkey/Fuller/fuckit is the difference between getting a bye and playing next week
  2. again, knock out who you can. This week, its the vikings next week its a 3rd stringer
  3. why is Wims better than White
  4. welp. we're pot-committed now. knock these bitches out plz.
  5. in all fairness, he sucks
  6. He's got 5 million in dead cap next year, he'll be back barring some sort of playoff nightmare. I cant believe they signed him
  7. horsefeathers that. knockk the vikings out f the postseason. The Vikings stink. Let them in because they look like the weakest team in the NFC. but they aren't. I'd much rather face Philadelphia
  8. If the Bears are thinking about pulling them 6 minutes in, most of the starters should never have played horsefeathers that. knockk the vikings out f the postseason.
  9. I was more impressed with their win at Wisconsin. But yea, Fleck has a very young team with incoming talent. I'm looking forward to the next coming years.
  10. I gonna put one on a tee for ya', TBS: The Packers don't have an owner. Unless you want to count their more than 360k stockholders as owners. They are a non-profit corporation, the only in American professional sports. They're (business) run by a board of directors and only Mark Murphy collects a salary. Here's something that's great: they the only American major-league sports franchise to release its financial balance sheet every year. I hate the packers and would love nothing more then to see them die a slow painful death, but I would feel so much better about professional sports if their ownership mode was the norm instead of the anomaly.
  11. No true. College players are killing themselves for the impossible chance that they get to kill themselves for a very small portion of the overall money later.
  12. How tho? Teams will only win with the players they have and the managements ability to put those players in the best position to win. Winning cant JUST be about draft position because the players currently on a roster wont give a horsefeathers about the next phenom. The players themselves have to be rewarded as well. What about a kind of legacy pension? A way to reward guys like Rizzo who, as they get older, are worth less wins but are rewarded for their youthful service and wins later in their career. It would also keep teams like the Red Sox from reloading year after year and force a churn in the league, teams rising and falling. I realize that this is closer to the old process of rewarding older players (like the Cubs did for years) on the down slope of their careers, but making it easy for the big 4 every year to crush smaller markets gets old. Unfortunately the competitiveness of any pro sport will always lead to those owners/managers who want to win learning how to game any system, I fear.
  13. I love anarchy and madness. Where theres confusion, theres opportunity
  14. the potential for an upset coupled by a strong push by the 49ers and a soft season ending by the Rams is exactly why I want max effort in MPLS
  15. well: 1) we haven't won the super bowl yet 2) we dont have a geriatric QB 3) i like our D more but beyond that sure
  16. Will Bellamy and Millers ejections carry over to this weeks game?
  17. Wow.. Yea I don't know how much the FS/SS thing matters. Fwiw, Amos was listed as the FS yesterday and Bush the SS. A claiming team on Swearinger has control left too? Forgetting this year, could be a cheap Amos plug for next year? Swearinger would be a luxury.
  18. No idea if this is speculation or something Theo truly asked https://www.federalbaseball.com/2018/12/24/18154692/washington-nationals-news-cubs-want-bryce-harper-wait-nats-looking-dozier-josh-harrison-adam-eaton
  19. I worry about having to beat a team 3 times in a year, but I really want that bye
  20. We win a fair amount and show solid balance. I concur.
  21. well that was more theatrical then it needed to be. 11 wins, lets get 12
  22. If that is the choice, sign me up for Kluber and Pollack too. Let the White Sox have Harper. horsefeathers pitching dick
  23. there is that, but i think the move got so much ridicule that the national guys have taken a narrative and run with it. i mean, the expectations for a first year qb playing in the situation he played in last year shouldn't have been so high nor was his performance so bad that he should have been looked at all that negatively, imo. I think you are grossly exaggerating how much the national guys care about that trade. If he does well his national reputation will improve. But he's looked pretty bad at times so it'll take time. He was a solid pick at #2. No one thought Mahomes would be better at this point, arm strength be damned.
