    I thought Coghlan was gonna fizzle back out into oblivion. Him becoming our makeshift Zobrist after all the other failed experiments was the last thing I expected. I was also shocked we made it past the trading deadline with all our core rookies and prospects still on the team, and as soon as the deadline was over we became one of the best teams in baseball in the 2nd half. Would've expected us struggling to compete for the 2nd wild card at best, not looking at an actual possibility of contending for the division. Oh, and Alcantara being useless at each level.

    He's not actually supposed to be starting them. tree is technically still the active thread starter. He started the 2nd doubleheader which the Cubs won two nights ago, but didn't post the thread yesterday (or today). But we're winning, so..... nope. the guy who starts a winning game thread is the active thread starter. You cede your spot and your start is gone. Fair enough. Just thought when Fred spot starts and says "Win lose or rainout" and suggests the guy who missed it starts the next game regardless was the law of the land.

    :D That's a good call, David. Though, sontensei started a thread predicting that Chris Coghlan would be our second baseman, and that, somehow, actually did happen. So, I'm afraid he gets the Omniscient Poster of the Year title. He also suggested one of the reasons he should play 2nd is because Addison Russell stinks, so... he's an idiot.

    Go for the division and let the Cards and Pirates duke it out for the wild card spot while the Cubs have disco parties and magician shows while they prepare for the winner. With the division within striking distance and the Cards not playing immaculate baseball, this is the proper thing to root for.
