Robinson Cano and Melky Cabrera are the Mantle and Maris of our generation, and they should command any team's #1 overall player in return for their services for just one of them, let alone both. That rumor must be bunk, we all know that Cabrera alone could net them Peavy easily, and the throw in to make it worth the Yankees effort should be Adrian Gonzalez. Throw Cano into the picture and then Tony Gwynn would have to step into a time machine, go back to his prime years, steal himself and take him into the time machine, and then go to present day and trade him as well in the deal. And on the way back through the years, they should've brought Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield, and Trevor Hoffman as well while they were younger and in their primes. Then and only then, will the deal be equal... and even saying that might get me punched in the face for being so insulting to the Yankees Why am I up so early on a day where I have nothing to do and why is everything dizzy?
