  1. Mesa's got a good looking squad on their hands, should be fun watching Mike Stanton. Stanton is currently in Mobile playing against the BayBears. I've got to see him close up. That kid is jacked. Unfortunately he hasn't hit any homers in the series, and they clinched the playoff spot last night so they might sit him today in the last game of the series. He did hit a triple that torched the right center wall that looked like a love tap when he swung. His power is second to none, even on his outs or his singles, the sound that comes of his bat is different than any other player I've seen play since I got this job a month and a half ago. He's going to be monumentally powerful as he gets older and adjusts to the big leagues.
  2. Hey, nobody said he was a good GM. Phillips should've been fired for trying to do it and the other should be fired for not doing it
  3. His unassisted triple play capabilities far exceed that of the average middle infielder. Hendry should trade for him and extend him to a multi year deal so he can help us get those unassisted triple plays
  4. Or maybe he didn't, and we all just want to believe that he did
  5. When in doubt, they can always blame it on Marylin Manson or Grand Theft Auto
  6. Of course it was, they haven't met the 36 trade quota they set for themselves this year yet
  7. Jim Rice is the douchiest douche that ever douched
  8. Oh God, now the Cardinals are gonna sign him and we'll watch him hit .320 with 40hr and 120rbi the rest of the season #-o
  9. I was coming here to just post that, lol.
  10. That flipped the light switch to on. Thank you for bringing me out of the dark. Now I feel even more dumb, lol. Nice work, btw, as everyone has said.
  11. *benches all Padres on his fantasy team* You have Padres on your fantasy team? Kyle Blanks is the ish
  12. I feel/am stupid... how did you come up with their expected lines? I read that first paragraph like a dozen times and I recognize that it discusses LD%, BABIP and what not, but your conclusions include none of those numbers, just AVG/OBP/SLG... are you using BP's projections with the expected line? Is this based off last year's numbers? What? I feel like I'm missing something that's so obvious it doesn't need to be mentioned, but I'm just not seeing it. Not trying to be a douche I'm just trying ot understand how you came up with AVG/OBP/SLG expected lines based on BABIP and LD%
  13. It's in this thread already viewtopic.php?f=6&t=55357
  14. This is wrong on so many levels, but I couldn't help but bust out laughing at the absurdity of it. EDIT: I'm currently using "Cleveland Steamers"
  15. Sucks for Salty and Teagarden EDIT: Well, maybe not Teagarden... I figured they'd bench him in favor of Pudge, Rotoworld doesn't seem to think so...
  16. I was going to make a post in the same vein as this but couldn't think of the proper hypothetical set up with which to pull it off. Kudos, sir.
  17. Oh no you didn't, girlfriend!
  18. Pffft, that's a crappy excuse. j/k, congrats, take your time... don't disappoint the new Mrs. by telling her you need to post HR derby updates! :)
  19. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/top-nl-rookie-pitchers
  20. Fangraphs says Soriano is only worth $1 million this season so far. We should trade him back to the Nationals for Nyjer Morgan, because he's the most valuable player in the history of the world
  21. Montana to Clark. It's kind of epic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Catch_%28American_football%29
  22. What? No he shouldn't have. It's not his duty as a baseball player to try and out steroid users. It's none of his business.
  23. A speedy contact hitter with decent plate patience. It's not that spectacular, but I'm assuming that the bulk of his value comes in his defense, ala Elvis Andrus. I think Escobar is a little overrated in the grand scheme of things (like how he rates in Top MLb prospect lists), but as far as shortstop prospects go he's probably one of the best in all of baseball since it's such a thin position.
  24. I know, right? WTF. Top billing on their MLB page too. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4391911 Still, nice fluff piece on his journey through the majors while coping with diabetes and also being kind of a huge stat nerd. Pretty good read
