IIRC, Morrison hosted a charity even for his own foundation and the Marlins didn't really give him a lot of support that they had told him they would, and he felt a little slighted, and the team had to go to a charity event that the Marlins were putting on and Morrison didn't want to attend because of the disrespect he felt the Marlins showed him. I believe it was supposed to be mandatory, but Wes Helms, who was the team's player's union rep, told him he didn't have to go if he didn't want to. He didn't, they demoted him, and ironically they released Wes Helms a few days later I think.
