  1. I'd like to offer up this GIF to be used in any situation where someone is wondering who another player is.
  2. I couldn't resist... http://i.imgur.com/HsthfTo.gif I don't know why the GIF is so damn grainy though
  3. Well at the time we still had Garza and Dempster and other tradeable pieces that we all assumed they'd use to replenish pitching (and they did; Edwards, Hendricks, Ramirez, Black, Grimm). They viewed Cashner has a long term bullpen guy, and used him to fill a position of need elsewhere. It was a smart trade, regardless of hindsight.
  4. This cannot be overstated. A Yankees radio broadcast is a painful thing to listen to. Sterling is a cartoon character and Suzyn Waldman is terrible at her job. They are also the biggest homer sycophants in the business. The absolute worst Sterling call I've ever heard was Granderson's first Yankees HR before he settled in on the "Grandyman" horse [expletive]. He said "Oooooh, Curtis, you're something sort of grandish!" It was the douche chilliest thing I've ever heard in my life.
  5. Ooooohhhhhhhh.... just saw the updated Tennessee roster. I'm gonna hate myself if I don't catch a game in PCola this weekend
  6. Castro was double switched out after his last PA. That was the pitcher's spot. Ahhhhhhh
  7. Am I reading this right? They pinch hit Travis Wood for Castro?
  8. I'm watching the gamecast on ESPN and this has to be one of the worst [expletive] strike zones I've ever seren
  9. http://i.imgur.com/Lc2ZWvG.png Who is behind the plate?
  10. John Sterling is the absolute worst. I can't even imagine the atrocities he'd say about players on other teams. Wait, yes I can... "Oooohhhhh Rizzo, that ball is gonna MISSO Wrigley Field!" "Oh Starlin, my Starlin!" "Javy Bye-Bye Baby Baez! "Kris Bryant hits a GIANT!" "You can teach an OLT dog new tricks!" Barf.
  11. Hmmmmm... I may be in Pensacola this weekend. Might need to stop by and see the Smokies play the Blue Wahoos
  12. Bruce Drennan is [expletive] awesome
  13. http://i.imgur.com/EixSfg9.gif Fair warning, I'll be using this gif a lot in the next few weeks
  14. Boy, you all must really hate your wives.
  15. Have teams always played some of the final ST games in their actual stadiums or is this a new thing?
  16. All things considered... the roster doesn't bother me. For starters, I know it's not gonna be great so right off the bat I'm not surprised. Two, there's actually a lot of players on this roster I'm excited to see develop. At the very least it'll be intriguing just to watch these guys progress. There wasn't a lot of that last year and all our "good" players were guys we were waiting to ship off for more prospects. Throw in the call ups of Baez and others later in the season and it makes this team a lot more interesting than last year's despite having, on paper, a worse opening day roster.
  17. I forgot all about Golden. I remember being really excited about his power potential
  18. We called that a "rover" in our league
  19. True. But we're talking about 40-50 years from now. The first MLS season was in 1996 and it's already the nearly equal in popularity with MLB among 12-17 year olds. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1740529/mls-catches-mlb-espn-sports-poll?cc=5901 If it can get that far in 19 seasons, where's it gonna be in 50? The kids who like it now are gonna be running the country then, yada yada yada tin foil hats, etc. It was a silly statement, like I said, but it made sense to me.
  20. It was a wacky statement, but not at all hard to understand. Recent studies show that among kids, Soccer is more popular than baseball.
