  1. His "source" being Twitter and having heard of Arismendy, but not Raul. I don't know, he seems pretty legit...
  2. [expletive] that. He's not far off from Russell. Dude has 2k followers. Probably got the wrong Alcantara. Good call. In all honesty, I can't imagine dealing Shark this early without getting back a major league pitcher back. Out of Straily, Pomeranz, and Millone, I'd think one is definitely involved in this. I really like Pomeranz. He started doing really well before hurting his hand. I think him and Bosio would be super best budz.
  3. [expletive] that. He's not far off from Russell. Dude has 2k followers. Probably got the wrong Alcantara. Yeah, this makes more sense. Probably saw "Alcantara" and jumped to conclusions.
  4. And Hammel was pulled awfully early. And he voiced his opinion that he didn't think it was Renteria's call
  5. I can't even begin to imagine how many avenues it would open up for the Cubs in other trades if they acquire Russell. Damn that would be [expletive] special
  6. I doubt that. That'd be approaching a lateral move given the major league piece(s) involved. Yeah, that's true.
  7. I'd venture a guess that Alcantara might be a possibility to be included
  8. We're talking about it more in the other thread, but to answer your question it looks like he had an injury (or has an injury, not up to date on him) that's limiting his playing time, but he's still very good and highly regarded. He's going to be a Top 10 prospect at year's end probably. If not, then a Top 20 for sure.
  9. The first thing I thought of with Russell is that acquiring him makes one of our bigger prospects (or Russell himself) moveable for a bigger name at the deadline or in the offseason. Naturally Stanton is the dream target that comes to mind, and the Cubs would have enough bullets to get him and still have plenty of prospects in the pipeline if Russell is acquired.
  10. Just to have a list, BA's Top 10 Oakland prospects to start the year: 1. Addison Russell, ss 2. Billy McKinney, of 3. Raul Alcantara, rhp 4. Michael Ynoa, rhp 5. Renato Nunez, 3b 6. Max Muncy, 1b 7. Dylan Covey, rhp 8. Bobby Wahl, rhp 9. Daniel Robertson, ss 10. Nolan Sanburn, rhp EDIT: Updated for B-R links. I don't know how Daniel Robertson's defense is but he's got a sexy batting line this season
  11. In other news it looks like Sabathia is done for the year, and there's reports his career is in jeopardy as well Yankees are in the playoff hunt. Do they have anyone worth a damn to offer for Samardzija (or Hammel) at this point?
  12. Sounds like they'll trade him only on their terms considering they don't necessarily have to trade him at all. Considering what a half season of guys in the past have gotten the Cubs, I completely understand why they're shooting for the moon with Samardzija. That said, that is a really steep price.
  13. That Glidden Paint commercial they play on MLB.tv must be what they show people in hell for all of eternity
  14. Not sure where we'd stuff him On a plane. To another team. So he'd be a flyer? http://i.imgur.com/TGAtq.gif
