  1. Tennessee is bad
  2. 42-39 is a really annoying score when you lose
  3. how so I had just grown used to Arrieta going after Lester in the post-ASB rotation
  4. Lackey? Man, the rotation is all wonky now.
  5. On the pitching side, that's just how you draw a game up. Beautiful
  6. Ah, so it's all part of an NCAA philanthropy plan. And here I thought it was just padding the win totals. Silly me
  7. You guys are bad at pizza
  8. FSU shouldn't be playing Charleston to begin with, but that's another can of worms
  9. Roberts took a team that went 92-70 (.568 win pct) and has turned them into what is so far a 79-60 team (.568 win pct). Yay? You are very good at not paying attention to things and commenting on them, lol. I don't think it's because Roberts is doing a magnificent job, or anything, but the Dodgers have been very good despite a lot of major injuries (TT likes to point out that this should've been seen coming when the Dodgers decided to have 15 starters with health concerns). But then the criteria for the award becomes "did better than he should have due to X factors," which penalizes someone like Maddon because "well he had the best team on paper so whatever". It's a silly award whose criteria changes year to year

  11. I don't have near as much a problem with Roberts winning it as I do with Dusty, who is already working his usual magic in Washington. Roberts took a team that went 92-70 (.568 win pct) and has turned them into what is so far a 79-60 team (.568 win pct). Yay?
  12. The preseason poll is the dumbest thing on earth, so I'm OK with these new rankings. I'm talking about the differences between the AP and coaches Well the coaches poll is even dumber than preseason polls
  13. If Dave Roberts wins then the award is essentially meaningless
  14. Baseball is not football. There is no such thing as a 4 year rebuild in football. shhhhhh shhhhhh.....let the acceptance of their impending mediocrity flow through you
  15. The sooner everyone accepts that the Bears are in their "2011-2014 Cubs" phase, the less stressed about them you'll be
  16. still the right call we'll never know, but so far, that move has netted them zero playoff series wins
  17. i was sure the timmons/bullett platoon was gonna do great things I was more of a Kevin Roberson guy
  18. Good thing they punted that one season to save his arm
  19. I only brought him up because he was the first guy I thought of where his future position wasn't known when he was drafted. He could've been drafted as either a pitcher or a hitter. And we had him in a sim league and despite giving him gaudy ratings, he basically sucked like in real life His sim version did not kill anyone tho, so he had that going for him And he didn't die mid season like a few if them did
  20. So the Cubs are just pitching Hammel and Montgomery every other day? Feels like it
  21. Mainly this was my thing. Not to mention that Matt Bush is notorious for other things, like almost killing someone, which makes him an odd guy to bring up. I only brought him up because he was the first guy I thought of where his future position wasn't known when he was drafted. He could've been drafted as either a pitcher or a hitter. And we had him in a sim league and despite giving him gaudy ratings, he basically sucked like in real life
  22. The look on Maddon's face after that strike 3 to Heyward told everything
  23. So he's Matt Bush? what the hell I was joking. Bush hit .450 with 11 HR and 35 RBI while also going 5-1 with a 0.73 ERA in his senior year of high school
