    Breaking up your conference schedule with an easy win certainly gives you a temporary poll shift. When everyone is playing Marist or The Citadel while B1G teams are playing Michigan or Ohio State is (again temporarily) meaningful. The SEC clearly schedules this way because they believe this to be true

    Counsell is very much like David Ross, where he favors vets over rookies and players "earn" their spots based on their career, not based on recent trends. He was really stubborn to move off of Happ at leadoff, and now he's being stubborn with Busch. He continues to bat Kelly 4th/5th despite his horrible K rate. I know we'll never get there, but I would LOVE to see what someone who was NOT a former player could do as a manager. I think there's just way too much baggage and bias that comes from being a former player
