  1. Because though reinforcements are coming, they aren't here yet, and he still has to navigate a bunch of games in a row with a pen that includes Thielbar, Thornton, Turd and Civale
  2. Hunter Greene back on IL
  3. The look on his face is "sure I hit 2 HR's, but GODAMMIT WHY DID I POP THAT LAST ONE UP????"
  4. That looked like it was going about 150 feet further off the bat
  5. I'd be fine with them just calling it and taking the W, but that's just me
  6. I know the high-leverage options are thin, but this dude should not be pitching today based on his recent workload
  7. Has anyone mentioned that Thielbar needs to be DFA'd yet?
  8. Lost in the glory of this series is Happ being absolute trash. 0-5 with 3 K's this series. .144 average since the ASB with 22 K's
  9. Truly. It's going to be sad when she quits Marquee and goes fulltime with national stuff
  10. Was hoping to get more IP out of Shota today. Gonna need Turd/Civale/Thornton to hold this lead
  11. tldr, PCA is a more complete player while Sosa lapped him offensively
  12. Not to belabor this point, but 2001 Sosa had (per Fangraphs) a 78.8 "Batting and Base Running combined above average". PCA is currently at a 35.8. The difference is that Sosa's "Fielding and Positional Adjustment above average" was -1.1 while PCA's is 21.5
  13. PCA passed it because of defense. I was quoting a post that seemed to be implying best offensive season in Cubs' history. PCA has a long way to go to reach that
  14. Babe Ruth had a 12.5 WAR in 1927 and didn't get a single MVP vote. Lou Gehrig won with an 11.9
  15. Watching Pages makes you appreciate how frustrating it is when the other team has an elite CF
  16. Christ, my feed is like a full minute behind you guys. He only just swung on my feed. Might not be able to participate in the thread today if I'm this far behind
  17. Assad's problem has always been lack of pitch efficiency. Last night was an exception, but more often than not, he's pushing 75-80 pitches somewhere in the 4th inning. He may be really effective for those 4 2/3 innings, but you know that when he starts, you're going to use up some bullpen arms
