  1. okay, laroche k's on 3 pitches, let's get a DP please
  2. wow, home run cut by laroche comes up empty
  3. these pirates announcers aren't that bad.
  4. whether this was quade this time or not, he still sucks. the cubs have left half a dozen runs at 3rd base because of him and now a double by bay, great
  5. it was medium depth and duffy came in to catch it, but still, it's soriano and now the inning is over. I HATE YOU QUADE
  6. can't believe lee swung at THAT....down in the count 1-2
  7. soriano reaches on a base hit off wilson's glove
  8. sanchez lines to soriano, end of the 1st
  9. why does the sky over Wrigley look like a tornado is about to touch down?
  10. He should the next 2 games (after tonight), 2 lefties. nah, DeRosa will start in RF
  11. It is a very strange situation. They talk about Tampa similarly to the way somebody would talk about Washington when referring to anything to do with the US government. And you hear more about the Tampa team, in high A than you do any of their other affiliates. You rarely heard anything about Columbus, and never hear anything about Scranton now (their former and current AAA teams). their facilities in Tampa are nicer than 1/2 the major league ballparks
  12. he usually pipes in with the lineups in the game threads, but i haven't even seen that recently
  13. the brewers have someone tearing it up at AAA? So did the giants in Tim Lincecum. okay, that's a one game sample size, but AAA success doesn't automatically mean success at the bigs
  14. Youre right. It does give us a better chance to win. The only reason why you would go with Pie and Murton over Jones and Floyd is defense and I think right now we can use every part of offense we can get. Since when are Jones and Floyd automatic offensive improvements over Murton? They are each still sub 800 OPS OF with checkered pasts (Jones usually isn't very good and Floyd usually can't stay healthy). at this moment is all i'm saying I still don't think it's a given. nothing is a given. but at this moment, with the game on the line, i'd prefer floyd at the plate to murton
  15. I'd be willing to bet my life that the Bulls do not select Jeff Green. My money right now (pre-lottery) is the Bulls will land in the 7-10 range and get Roy Hibbert. Spencer Hawes, Yi Jianlian, and Al Horford are other possibilities depending on what draft pick we get. I don't think Horford will make it out of the top 5. Which is why I said "depending on what draft pick we get". I think it'll be 7-10 range, but it could be higher. Hopefully we can get lucky and get a top 5 pick and have a chance at Horford. Hibbert or Hawes wouldn't be a bad consolation prize though. can't get the #5 pick
