  1. And create a homefield advantage for presumably the top teams. You might as well take the teams that will have homefield anyway and put them in the championship, since chances are that's gonna happen anyway. correct. you award the BCS 1-4 with homefield advantage. Sorta like every other sport on the planet Then 1-4 will likely win the first round. 1-2 will have a huge advantage in the 2nd round. Why waste time, and just put 1-2 in a championship game? And the every other sport argument doesn't apply to college football, you have 109 teams vying for 8 spots and most of those teams don't play each other or even all the teams in their conference. actually, it's 120 teams. How is homefield unfair in CFB but not the NFL?

  3. if you scrap the bowl games and make the first two rounds of the playoff on-campus, you eliminate travel for half the teams
  4. first, only TWO teams would play 15 games. FOUR would play 14 games. Second, it works in I-AA on down. third, no one bitches about extending the 30 game college basketball season into 3 game pre-season tourneys, then 3-4 game conference tourneys, then up to 6 more games over 3 weekends in March
  5. bumped down to NAIA If you get rid of any sort of "selection committee" and just make an 8 team playoff with BCS teams 1-8, you at least get rid of SOME of the controversy
  6. ever consider it's the only song they know? Like the USC band? Michigan Band, Notre Dame Band.....
  7. a better start than the Bulls
  8. ever consider it's the only song they know?
  9. Not really, but they probably won't mind if you miss them. wow, i expected just an eyeroll from you. you're stepping up
  10. This WVU offense makes me pissed that they aren't playing in the title game
  11. those two NFC games are completely unwatchable
  12. Penn State wins. Cornley/Claxton combine for 40 points. NU can't rebound worth a damn
  13. that's not it at all. i don't hate everyone except the cubs - i hate the cardinals, astros and yankees. in hockey i hate the rangers and devils. pro football i hate the cowboys and giants. ohio st and michigan are usually the best teams in the big ten, that's why i hate them and always root against them. i usually hate them too, but i'm also tired of hearing the "big 10 can't beat the SEC" crap, so i rooted for Michigan and Wisconsin. that said, I can't root for O$U in the NC game
  14. surprisingly entertaining game in Evanston with NU up by 1 over PSU at the half. Geary Claxton and Jamel Cornley might both get looks in their NBA draft years (amazing for PSU).
  15. I thought they were moving the 3-point line back this year?
  16. Why would you root against your teams conference doing well in bowl games? because i hate michigan and ohio state. i'm a penn state fan, not a big ten fan. i won't cheer for ohio state ever (except the year they played Miami for the NC) but I definitely cheered for Michigan against Meph....er.....Florida i will never, ever root for michigan or ohio state, unless them winning would significantly benefit penn state. i know, you're from Philly. hating everyone but your own team is in your DNA
  17. bitter illini face Not at all. Nobody expected the Illini to win. Im glad we got there, and the future is very bright in Champaign. This is the beginning, certainly not the end. I dont see how anybody could watch that game and say USC wasnt a bunch of arrogant pricks. Did they score 1 td without taunting somebody, and drawing a unsportsman like penalty? so you hated them because they know they are better than Illinois?

  19. i kinda don't want to watch the game tonight. i'm sure i'll end up getting sucked in anyways
  20. my god i loved that place when i lived there. there was one around the corner from my apartment my junior year at DePaul and I got their fried shrimp basket at least once a week
  21. finally got that crucial piece they coveted in order to clear the way for Bedard/Roberts
  22. Carr was not fired
  23. i couldn't even read the rest of your post after this. Mr. Stats/Math guy evaluating someone by their HEART? what's his grit rating? I think it does apply more in Football though. There isnt any in depth statistical analysis that proves this that I know of. I just think things like grit and attitude apply more in football than baseball. Especially college. Usually by the NFL you better have the physical attributes. *leaves to watch "Rudy* *returns* OMG UR RITE!
  24. Penn State should open with a win at Northwestern tonight
