    I was encouraged by the game calling by Dick Stockton last night. I don't think he'll be nearly as bad as he was last year.

    Dear Meph: Neither were the 05 White Sox or 06 Cardinals. the 05 White Sox had the #1 ERA in the AL and had 91 pythagorean wins. the 06 Cardinals....yeah, they sucked

    I was on my honeymoon during this year's NBA finals (I'm a Laker fan) and I made a deal with my wife that I wouldn't watch any Cubs games (or pretty much any other sporting event) if she let me watch the three Laker games that were on. We were able to schedule activities (no, not those) in Maui like snorkeling and going on the road to Hana around the Laker games with no problem. Of course, it helped that the games were on at 3 in Hawaii and ended right before we would go to dinner those nights. Holy Howry, you're married? Aren't you younger than me? Jesus, just the thought sends chills down my spine. Yep. Got married in May and I'm 23. I got you beat.

    I don't like the rule when it penalizes the team with the best record. Now in this year's case, it doesn't, insofar as the Dodgers have a worse record as division champs than the Brewers do as the wild card, but some years, the team who earned the best record in the league isn't rewarded with the easiest first round matchup. that's bullHowry

    NICE! looks like the de facto pick this week is Dallas over Cincy, but I burned Dallas in week 1. Do I go Carolina over KC or Indy over Houston?

    Actually, Buffalo doesn't play a division game until week 8. Then, 2/3 of their remaining games are divisional. that's so piss-poor scheduling right there

    I agree. Dempster's relative lack of success as a starter (prior to 2008) is roughly on par with Lohse. The Cards overpaid for Lohse, someone will overpay for Dempster, but the deals should be similar

    and the only undefeated team in the SEC East is.....Vanderbilt. and PSU doesn't play Northwestern this year....oh noes, controversy alert!
