  1. not hitting with RISP makes them "mental midgets"?
  2. having a middle of the lineup hitter like Bradley do almost nothing but walk or K doesn't help
  3. twice in the same game Lee has failed to tag up from 2nd on a long fly ball
  4. I wonder what Jose Macias is doing http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/team.cgi?id=41150

  6. I was told there would be no math
  7. That Edwin Jackson for Matt Joyce trade isn't looking so hot for Tampa these days
  8. Detroit announcers puzzled why Lou has loaded the lineup with lefties when Jackson dominates lefties. Maybe I should send them a link to the Lou is an Idiot thread....
  9. Wrong Consider this: INNING A: Batter #1 hits a HR, followed by Batters 2 thru 4 grounding out. In the inning, the team has a SLG of 1.000 and scored 1 run INNING B: Batters 1 thru 4 have walked. The team has an OBP of 1.000 and scored 1 run, but there are still no outs. OBP is more valuable than SLG.
  10. and yet they basically have the same record as the Cubs
  11. Sure. I'm assuming that the pinch-hitter would have been Miles, who would have not have gotten on-base. A fairly safe bet I think.... And to be clear, I'm not defending Lou for leaving Dempster in; it was idiotic considering the pitch count, the heat and humidity, and the score. I'm just saying that in this particular instance, it didn't seem to matter.
  12. Sure it did. If he pulled him for a pinch hitter then maybe we score that inning. Then he wouldnt have come in the following inning and let runners on - who knows if his replacement would have. It definitely mattered. I meant giving up the 2nd run
  13. it turns out that it didn't really matter
  14. anyone else have the Braves broadcast on both EI feeds? EDIT: Nevermind, they have the home team on the visitors feed and vice versa
  15. he leads the majors in OPS, but has Ben Zobrist (FTH?)hot on his tail
  16. it really never took root over there because people were just posting here instead. The TD Derby contest I ran a couple seasons ago was fun though (despite only about a dozen people playing)
  17. I'm sorry, but I just can't overlook the irony of you making this statement. better luck next time What is that ? Are you saying that you consider it a matter of luck when you say something relative and to the point ???? I wishing you luck in overlooking it next time ;)

  19. this is the most "much ado about nothing" argument we've had in some time. seriously, who cares?
  20. I wouldn't be surprised. But the guy has been around for what, 25 years? He's got to be in his 60's. I also wouldn't be surprised if he was planned for a long time, or a health issue. he's been the union rep since 1986 I believe
