  1. I think Cliff lee wins one for Philly tonight and the Yankees wrap it up at home
  2. outside of the obvious (winning), the Bears biggest priority is to stay healthy this game, as there is a short turnaround before a Thursday night game against the 49ers. Why they don't do a Thursday game after the bye week is beyond me...
  3. Columbus has cooled off after a quick start, but remain just 2 points behind Chicago
  4. Play action does nothing when you can't run the ball. And it takes more time for playaction passes to develop, leaving Cutler even more vulnerable to the rush. The few times they used it on a roll out gave Cutler the most time to pass, though. And just because they weren't successful running the ball doesn't mean they didn't try, meaning it was easy for the defense to recognize run vs. pass right after the ball was snapped.
  5. I actually thought there wasn't enough play-action being called in general. A little more might make the blitz calls less easy for opposing DC's. They should also do some designed roll outs or just generally move the pocket more. Cutler is going to get killed back there.
  6. I do not like ARod, especially since that "fake" press conference in Spring Training where he admitted to steroids. He didn't sincerely mean it, he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and was force to admit, otherwise he would have kept doing it. And while it does seem he is about to get a ring, doesn't mean I think he should get on. But oh well, another douchebag with a ring. You don't want a douche bag to get a ring, yet you cheer for a team coached by Nick Saban. You must be so conflicted...
  7. No thank you. ARod is still a douche that doesn't deserve a World Series ring. But thats okay, we all know he needs to piggyback off a team that is lead by Jeter to get a ring. what on earth?
  8. Milton Bradley isn't playing in the World Series
  9. The Bears are just 1 game back of Philly/Dallas and 1/2 a game back of the Giants for a wildcard spot, but they can't afford to lose any gimme's....
  10. time for LSU to get EXPEAUSED against Alabama
  11. BCS Standings: 1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Alabama 4. Iowa 5. Cincinnati 6. TCU 7. Boise State 8. Oregon 9. LSU 10. Georgia Tech 11. Penn State 12. USC 13. Pittsburgh 14. Utah 15. Houston 16. Ohio State 17. Miami 18. Arizona 19. Oklahoma State 20. California 21. Wisconsin 22. Notre Dame 23. Virginia Tech 24. Oklahoma 25. South Florida
  12. their opinion would have been completely different, but then again there's a big difference between leading by four scores at halftime and trailing a bad team by more than a touchdown going into the fourth quarter. indiana tensed up and choked, then completely quit after giving up the lead. that was pretty obvious. You could say the exact same thing about the Penn State/NU game. Close in the 4th quarter, then NU choked/tensed up and PSU ran away with it. Yet PSU jumped Ga Tech while Iowa slid....
  13. Ron Turner could be schooled by your average Madden '10 player
  14. Nope, only one non-BCS team is guaranteed a spot. Others can be selected, but I doubt they get chosen if enough BCS teams are eligible (maybe over Cinci?). As far as I know, the top 8 rule only applies to ND. http://www.bcsfootball.org/bcsfb/eligibility So TCU would get the auto-berth, and Boise State would have to get in as an at-large (which I think they very well could based on recent BCS bowl performances). I'd like to think a 2-loss USC is out of the BCS picture, but we know how much the pollsters love them.
  15. poor matt forte
  16. they have to take a non-BCS school if they're undefeated and in the Top 8 of the BCS standings though, right?
  17. My early predictions of BCS games would be: NC - Texas vs. Alabama Rose - Iowa vs. Oregon Orange - Pittsburgh vs. Ga. Tech (I think Cincy blows it against WVU and/or Pitt) Fiesta - Florida vs. TCU Sugar - Boise St. vs. Penn State Capitol One - LSU vs. Ohio State
  18. Probably the latter. But at least Iowa can claim to be Big Ten Champs despite losing to OSU (kinda like OSU did last year....buttholes)
  19. Outside of playing Bama/Florida in the NC game, it's unlikely. Iowa/Oregon in the Rose Bowl is looking more and more likely
  20. Beat the piss out of OSU next week. Why? That only means you'll lose to a 3 loss team ;)
  21. sure, don't want to muddy the waters of all the riveting Missouri discussion
  22. Iowa winning every week only makes PSU's loss to them look "better", so hey, win away
