  1. I don't like the Phillies' insane power versus Harden's high fastballs.
  2. Oh, so first inning goes 1-2-3 but the cripple gets a base hit :-s
  3. doube single flyout to deepcenter double flyout to deep center Yeah, he's getting hit hard. Really hard. This could be a painful night.
  4. I will be following this game on gameday. It's past midnight here (1 am to be exact), but I'm eager to see Wells pitch another gem. Go Cubs!
  5. After the fact, yes. In-game, he was clearly telling the ump "you sure he's allowed to do this?" Heh. If my opponent did something like that, I'd double check with the ump too.
  6. Oh, it was terrific. In the top of the 9th inning of last Sunday's nightcap against the Cardinals, score of 4-2 Cards at the time with two men on and nobody out, Lou brought in Marshall, who promptly walked Nick Stavinoha to load the bases. Needing to remove Marshall but keep him available for the left-handed hitters who were still due up in the inning, Lou got creative. He removed Soriano from the game, moved Marshall to left field and brought in Heilman. Heilman struck out the next batter on a 3-2 pitch, at which point Heilman was removed, Marshall moved back to the mound and Johnson brought in to play left field. Marshall got the next batter swinging, and just for good measure, the final out of the inning was on a diving, stumbling catch by Reed in left field that was clearly a trap and not a catch. Tony La Russa tried to argue the move, Joe Morgan couldn't understand and tried to argue the move, but for what it was, it worked like a charm. Didn't La Russa compliment Lou on having the balls to make that move?
  7. That's probably b/c they didn't know Fuld was available. We have enough CFs in the minors who can't hit, thank you very much. I didn't know that you were the Pirates' GM, thanks for that Why the snarly comment? he's right. The Pirates can't use Sam Fuld. They've got a pretty reliably CF in McCutchen.
  8. Wells should kick the Nationals' asses. If there is one team he can completely dominate, it's this one. Oh, and the offense should finally get some runs on the board. And I don't mean 3. More like 5+.
  9. Kerry Wood.
  10. When he was signed by Seattle, he also wrote a letter to Randy Johnson to ask him permission to wear number 51 (that had been issued to him because he didn't have a preference). I like Ichiro. He holds respect in high regard (I don't know if that's an actual English sentence, but I don't know how else to put it)
  11. I loved Lilly's grin when he lifted his cap though. You could see him thinking "idiots".
  12. That is actually a really good photoshop. Funny, of all the ones I just made I spent the least time on it. I was worried almost no one would know what it was. Yeah, I saw at first glance it was the Franz Ferdinand assassination.
  13. That is actually a really good photoshop.
  14. No offense IMB, but
  15. it should have been greinke and haren. haren has been by far the best pitcher in baseball this season but he seemingly gets very little credit. his stats- 130 IP 89 hits 16 bb 129 k .81 WHIP 2.01 era that's ridiculous But.. but he only won 9 games and lost 5! That means he's not very good! Seriously though, how the hell did he manage to lose 5 games already? Is the Dbacks offense really THAT bad?
  16. We need to get OMC in here. I bet he can answer your question without even having to look anything up.
  17. You should be on Last Comic Standing - Calling Gallagher, Patterson, and Murton major league ready players.    Apparently you haven't seen the team the Pads send out there every day - these guys would be an improvement.
  18. In 11 starts he's only given up 4 runs once, same with 3 runs. Together with Lilly, he's the only Cubs starter I trust on the mound for a solid outing right now. Actually, it's pretty awesome that he's been able to do that in so little time.
  19. Wow, that's an incredibly nice thing to do. Kudos to Z.
  20. Do we know Lees in the lineup? I think it was posted in the previous game thread that both Lee and Ramirez would play today, and since they didn't play the first game I figured they'd play the second.
  21. You being in the middle of your holidays = you sticking around for this game? I don't know, maybe, I hope so. I might catch the first innings, I think.
  22. Wells + Lee + Rammy + coming off a comfortable win = me good feeling about this game
