  1. Oh, and Ramirez. I like Ramirez too :D
  2. There is no in-between with him. He's either great or he's awful. Yeah, but when he's awful he still has an OBP around .350 And he seems to be producing really well in the leadoff spot. Let's hope Lou keeps him there.
  3. I really, really like Fuku.
  4. So Gomes gets to a full count by watching a slider in the dirt, before striking out on the next pitch which was... a slider in the dirt. How very Cublike
  5. Hill continues his journey down the black hole
  6. Man, Wells is getting hit today.
  7. I don't know, but he's OPS'ing .900 for july
  8. Yes, but in Bradley and Fukudome we have two very high OBP-guys. Plus, Fuku seems to be hitting better in the leadoff spot.
  9. Eh, why is Wises catch getting more press coverage than Buehrle's perfect game?
  10. Yeah, what was up with that? He just shouts "Alexei!" and then starts yelling "YES!" for a few minutes.
  11. I don't really like the White Sox... but congratulations to Mark Buehrle. Welcome to the history books.
  12. If you assume that 99% of all message board posters on the internet have little to no baseball ability...which I guess is a safe bet. Straight as an arrow 100 mph fastballs, more than a handful of guys here could make contact. 99% is a bit high. The majority, however, would struggle to make contact. Edit: I didn't notice his statement about being told the exact location of the pitch being thrown. If you knew the speed and location, that obviously increases your chances of success by quite a bit. Sure, they would make contact. None of them would get a hit though. No way. Pop ups and groundouts.
  13. Plus there's the instinctive reaction of stepping away from a projectile that's thrown close to you at 100 MPH. And like you said, that ball is in the catcher's glove before you even get the batt off your shoulder.
  14. I think the Cubs will be happy to push them further down this series
  15. Oakland up 12-2 in the 2nd inning
  16. Now let's take these hot bats and kick some Cincy ass!
  17. The look on the Phillies fans' faces alone would be priceless
  18. Phew. I was just about to type a few lines of Dutch swearing.
  19. Hey Gregg, the zone is two feet to the left. Thx.
