Manny for Griffey isn't a good trade. If you're dead set on getting rid of Manny it's not awful. Griffey is hitting .245/.355/.432 this season... Manny is hitting .299/.398/.529 this season... Yeah, that'd be a bad trade. That's not fair though. If you're getting rid of Manny, you're going to lose production with pretty much any return. Who's going to come in and produce equal to Manny? What option is better for the Red Sox if they are hell bent on getting rid of Manny? That's true, but there is no reason they should be trading Manny. Despite his problems he's had with management he has still been producing at a high level.
